Sometimes it fails to occur to me that I'm supposed to answer and that the other person is waiting for my response. Other times I just don't know what to say. And still other times I'm just so tired I can't think (I have chronic fatigue).

Welcome to WP. I have suspected that I am on the ASD spectrum since 1997 but have not gotten a diagnosis. I've tried twice and both times it came back inconclusive: neither a yes nor a no. It's been rather frustrating because I can't imagine what else could be causing my issues, and nothing else was...

I guess I really thought that being scared all the time was the default for everyone, but that people were better able than me to set it aside and get on with things, but I guess not. There is not a moment when I don't feel on edge and overwhelmed. And I haven't suffered any trauma that has caused t...

1. Yes. Co-wrote a book. 2. No, never attempted and don't think I could. 6. Many times. My sleep schedule is so irregular that I often have to stay up late to try to reset it. 7. Yes. The most devastating experience of my life. 8. Not exactly ghosted, but I've had friends who fell away, some rather ...

Not destroyed, but the tragic loss of my former partner had an extremely profound effect on my life. I'm so sorry. I can't say whether I know how you feel but I was also devastated by the death of my partner in 2015 and then the loss, not death, of my best friend of 40 years and former partner who ...

I remember her. She was funny and she made sex seem like a normal topic that is okay to discuss.

I agree that if something fills you with dread, that's probably a strong sign that it's not right for you. Why not rent? Sure, buying a house makes financial sense, but only in the long run. If you don't stay there long you are more likely to lose money. You probably wouldn't make money selling it a...

Although I did well in school, it made me so anxious that I didn't enjoy any of it. I especially hated college, where it was a futile scramble to keep up, and then all that mattered as far as the grade was writing a good paper, which I could do and did, but it was just stress, even when the subject ...

When Lister is dressed to impress (potential alien females), Rimmer says, "You're wearing your least smeggy things."

I haven't watched it in a long time but I loved that show. It's so smart and stupid (in the best way) at the same time. And very different and inventive. And it's so existential, that Lister is alone in the universe.

He's a historical figure who is very important to learn about, given that what he did should never be repeated, so no.

My own interests tend to be very frivolous, so embarrassing in that sense.

I relate to juggling too many balls at once. I'm not good at joining in a group conversation. I even miss the beat when someone else has finished talking and it's okay to chime in, so I could only do it by interrupting. But in a one on one conversation I can do okay if I am laser focused, although t...

I think you did the right thing for you. Try not to let it eat away at you. It's done, regardless, so even if it wasn't the right thing (and I think it was the right thing) you can't change it now. Relax! (If you can.)
