Don't forget the huge difference between having a republican at the dinner table previously and having a Trump supporter at the dinner table now. Difference in politics vs difference in humanity. Yes, absolutely. It's not just a different point of view or a different view on policy, it's a differen...

I don't know that I have any advice. Our emotions are what they are, and we can't always control how we express them or how they make us feel or react. You still have strong feelings about the loss of your dog, and that's okay. You're allowed to feel that way. Maybe you'd rather have it more under c...

Sympathy. I lack sympathy, not empathy. I know what a meltdown is, I've had more than a few myself. I'm not saying the autistic individual fakes them as a means to manipulate - I'm saying that over time, they can get used to getting what they want as a result of having one, and that as a consequenc...

^I hope your back is feeling better!

The only time I went outside today was to bring back the garbage can from the driveway to set it on the side of the house where it sits. I did a small amount of laundry. That's about it, but that's the norm for me because I'm always so tired.

I was going to ask just who is your favorite person, but I think that for many people their pet might be their favorite "person" so I included animal.

I think my favorite person is my bf, possibly tied with my sister. Both have been so helpful and supportive and kind, more than I deserve.

US society seems to have developed a kind of "oppression olympics" in which people compete, as members of a given group, for who is more oppressed, because being oppressed has come to be seen as a privilege by the dominant groups, because they think that oppressed groups are getting unfair...

That said, it is clear that in this case, Hamas is to blame for the attacks that brought all this on. They started this war and it really doesn't bother me if Israel finishes it. Hamas brought it upon themselves. You keep on conflating Hamas and the Palestinian people as if they were the same thing...

Denmark is a social democracy run by the Social Democratic Party. This means that while it's still a capitalist country its government leans very strongly to the Left, with high taxes and high levels of social programs available to the people, like free health care, housing subsidies, child care, e...

I agree with Edna. I'm very disturbed by the unfeeling and lacking in empathy responses of funeralxempire and uncommondenominator. I think it's very unlikely that a person with ASD who is in extreme distress, which is what a meltdown is, is doing it to engage in manipulation.

I'm not aware of anyone who doesn't think Hamas are terrorists. That in no way justifies the horrific Israeli aggression toward the people of Gaza. I don't know what point you (the OP) think you're making. You don't seem to have one.
