The first step of improving yourself, is recognizing your own shortcomings. Many can't (or won't) even do that. You are ahead of the game. :P

95% percent of the time, men and women cant just be close friends, because one, or both people are usually attracted to, or become attracted to the other person. He seems like he might be gay? If so, that would explain why this works.

People on the spectrum think and act differently than NT's. Don't expect them to ever completely change (maybe improve, though). Aspies, and Autistics are pretty straightforward about what they want, and don't want, and can be pretty blunt at times. They also don't always understand social cues, and...

It's the same with me.I find impossible to be friends or be romantic partners with anyone, except for other Aspies and even then,Considering that there's so few Aspies near my area,I find hard to even become friends with other Aspies. Outside of having a high paying job,I don't find much meaning in ...

I don't pursue women that are in a relationship, no matter how good, or bad it is, or how much interest there is. I also wouldn't do anything that would cause them to break it off, either. I might, however keep them around as "casual friends", and if the day comes that we are both single, ...

Those people are idiots. Why do you listen to them? Exactly. I gave up trying to please other people, and listening to everything they say, a long time ago. If people don't accept you for who you are, and don't understand you, don't waste your energy on them. There are other people out there that w...

Approaching a woman in a group is usually a bad idea. Not only do they "chit chat" with each other about you (her friends can intentionally, or unintentionally sabotage your attempts to get with her) , it's also harder to get her to focus her attention solely on you. If you see her again, ...

Forum: Love and Dating   Topic: Is it really so bad to be in the "friend zone?"

The friend zone is not a relationship; it's a condition of being known by someone while being virtually ignored by them at the same time -- while they may greet you and ask you how you are, they will likely never want to "hang out" or go on a date with you. Actually, some women will do ev...

If both people honestly want the same thing out of the relationship, then fine, but if each person has different expectations, it can, and usually does become a problem. You can't just switch off a romantic attraction towards someone. If I am romantically interested in someone, I don't see the point...

I asked “Are we going to be BF/GF in the future?” Her answer was “I don’t know. It might happen it might not. I want to work on issues in my head first. Please be patient with me.” So what do you make of this? If you straight out ask most women if you are going to be BF/GF, that would probably turn...

I really wouldn't recommend trying to date anyone where you work. It's just not a good idea. The old saying "don't sh*t where you eat" holds very true. Dating people at work can be a double-edged sword. On the plus side, it can let you get to know people in a casual manner, without the pr...

As I have always said, it is better to let someone know of your interest, sooner, rather than later, for this very reason. The longer you wait, the more painful it's gonna be, and the more time you are gonna waste (if they reject you). Most NT's usually don't come right out and state their interest/...

You will have to give more specific details of your approach/interactions with them and some insight as to exactly what is causing you to come across as creepy. Do you try to drag on conversations when they are not interested? Do you silently stare at them? Do you ask them a lot of questions about ...

My psychologist and research networks spoken to me recently about how NTs see in relationships, dating and sex are a 'game' while Aspies are straightforward with their decisions. From my observations, this is true. I have always been honest about what I want and don't want, and in most cases, never...
