i have felt though that probably the most insensitive thing a male can do is ask a woman is make some mention of 'that time of the month' as a response to some emotional need or problem or something.

i do it constantly but not out loud, but i move my hands like i were gesturing in a conversation. once i did it when i was riding my bike and only just realised that i was making gestures with my hands and not holding onto the handlebars
