| Peer abuse (aka bullying) is serious. It can cause Complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder at it's worst. It depends on the kid. I was one of the vulnerable ones. | Your "friend" was perpetrating an act of emotional abuse on your child and you as well. How could she possibly believe that disappointing a child is funny? How could she believe that going against your warnings was funny? Way too many emotional abusers (aka bullies) invalidate their target's outrage... |

| You have all, but particularly those of you over 40, written the story of my life. My 7 yo dd has been diagnosed with PDD-NOS after a misdiagnosis of ADHD. She acts out in school much more than I ever did, but of all my children she's the most like me as a child. |

| I can have stuff disappear without ever getting up from my seat. I favor the black hole explanation. Or maybe the Wee Ones. Sometimes stuff reappears in unlikely places. I'm trying to teach my dd to put stuff in specific places, so I hope she'll have an easier time of it. |

| She has an autism consultant looking into it, plus a whole slew of other professionals. As backwards as New Mexico can be in some areas it seems they do their darnedest for kids with special needs, including diagnosing autism spectrum disorders. At least that's state policy. | About the only way I'd intervene in this case is to explain to the other kid that J needs a bit of time to veg out with his movie, it's not because he doesn't like the kid anymore. Otherwise, yeah, they'll work it out. |
