Exactly. I approve of criticising films, but in most cases, including this one, I find the anger hard to understand. Religion can bring out the worst in people, which is something of a paradox.

uhm..willing to share how to fix broken windows...... :D I spoke too soon - the workaround started giving strange results today. So I created another workaround, and then just as I was about to try it, the strange results stopped happening, and then the broken "Show windows side by side" ...

Elon Musk, the well-known social scientist of great wisdom who always presents objective, real information to back up his research conclusions before he opens his mouth. Couldn't be just a rich man trying to justify his wealth, could he? Less sarcastically, I blame the media for hanging onto his eve...

What kind of extreme financial situations have you been in? I'm somehow still dodging that situation. How close have you been to not being able to pay for: rent, utilities, groceries, health insurance, transportation? So far I've always been able to pay for house mortgage, rent, utilities, grocerie...

Currently just one non-decaffeinated cup of green tea in the morning, then about 8 cups of decaffeinated green tea during the rest of the day, with one jasmine pearl added to improve the flavour. Zero alcohol, and that's unlikely to change over Xmas. Zero "soda" (I presume that means fizzy...

Why do some people seem deserving of sarcasm?

When people ask me stupid questions or make stupid claims, it is my moral obligation to give them sarcastic answers.

You know you don't mean it.

Unfortunately, the tech industry has decided that the cloud is the way forward and they're going to push everyone to use it as much as possible. Currently it's mainly files but increasingly processing will be done on remote servers, applications will be 'served', not running on your own computer. T...

Discovered a good workaround for the broken "Show windows side by side" feature in Windows 10. I'll wager there are very few people on this planet who know how it's done. I haven't seen the fix anywhere on the Web.

It does offer the advantage of being able to access your stuff from anywhere you are, as long as you've got an internet connection and the service providers don't let you down. Me, I've only bothered using the cloud to familiarise myself with how to use it, never for anything serious or private in a...

Upgraded technology does often have a downside, and then there's the price of upgrading, so the old stuff can feel a lot better in many ways. I still use a Windows XP desktop computer for recording music. It's the only thing that I can plug my old sound cards into (no PCI slots on new computers) and...

I presume by sarcasm you mean irony - the opposite of what is meant - directed at people in order to annoy them. I suppose it's always better to just say it straight, especially as an alternative to using irony on other people. If somebody has a criticism to give me, it doesn't help their case if th...

I'm wary of the term "masking" because I've seen it applied to behaviour that isn't particularly trying to conceal or deceive. I think all human beings present themselves to some extent. If I know that nobody is going to be anywhere near me for a long time, I might let my dress standards s...

I'm not sure there's a lot of difference between what makes autistics happy and what makes neurotypicals happy. Certainly I don't see anything unusual in what I would like. These aren't in order of priority: 1. Financial security, though it's hard to set a particular figure on it, because life is un...

I suppose financial security would be a good goal for me, if it were achievable. There was a time when I had a lot of savings and felt pretty much secure, but due to circumstances beyond my control that's been spent down to a fraction of what it was. And as a house owner, I never know when the place...
