There was one idea I quite liked - to get the hyper-able one to help teach the others when they'd completed their own work. That way, the "gifted" one had something to do that didn't pull them away from their classmates. I suppose the downside is that their classmates might start resenting...

I see it as being to do with under- and over-explaining. I certainly have a strong tendency to explain in more detail than most people do, and I need things explaining to me in more detail than most people do. Nobody's exactly right or wrong. It's not my fault that I don't know what they're on abou...

What's the evidence that he falsified the records? You mean the money that was paid to Cohen for helping to get Daniels' story bought but not published? Well, we've all the testimony from his trial, for starters. I should have also asked what these records are that Trump is supposed to have falsifi...

Hard for an Aspie to keep up, with so many characters in the story. It'd have to be a special interest. If I were Trump I'd pretend I didn't know anything about any hush money and that it was just the other guys who had gone rouge. How would they prove he knew? If memory serves, I think I recently ...

That kind of thing can work, because you'd have to think about him in order to make the request. We often dream about the things we've thought about or experienced on the day before the dream.

Speaking only from my own experience, frankly I would like to see the label 'gifted' struck from the language so that it isn't used to deny kids a normal childhood. I kind of agree. Society seems obsessed with sucking all the benefit it can get out of kids with abilities, and with peddling the idea...

I was back at work. Somebody from outside my usual laboratory had given me a lot of work to do, which I felt fairly confident about, and had already begun to make good progress. On returning to my usual laboratory, I saw that they'd brought and left a large set of biological samples for me to proce...

I'm hella disorganized with cooking because of timing all the different parts. I get round that by only having one "complicated" recipe which I make in bulk every week or two. As I've performed the procedure in pretty much exactly the same way many times over, the timing is now more or le...

I'm more or less OK with the dictionary definition but I'd lean more towards it being an uncommonly high aptitude for a specific subject or field of endeavour. Sometimes you get people who have that in a number of subjects, but I'm wary of labelling a person as gifted in everything, and I don't real...

I'll wager it'll never happen. The Tories will be out on their ear at the next election. If political opinion polls are anything to go by, he'll be booted out of power at the next general election, anyway. The prophets have spoken. 8) And this looks quite encouraging: https://www.politico.eu/europe...

Don't know why, but it's unusual for me to get tired of the food I eat every day. Might be the effect of getting hyperfocussed on special interests all the time - I forget to eat until I'm starving to death, at which point even a chair leg would taste good. I've got food preparation times down to a ...

Monotropism Score: 187 / 235 Your Average: 3.98 This score suggests that you are more Monotropic than about 32% of autistic people and about 92% of allistic people based on data from the initial validation study. It figures. My ASD isn't as severe as can be, but it's definitely there. I was pleasant...

I would say one difference is that I can more clearly see the difference between what I think and what other people think, regardless of such tricks as attempting to appeal to my emotions or to outnumber me.

As far as I can remember I never really rejected myself in the first place. I've had quite a bit of self-doubt and guilt feelings over the years, and still have, but not to the point of significantly ill health. I've never stopped trying to be kind to myself. I've been judged quite a bit too, but I'...
