I suppose there might be a rude cheese sandwich somewhere in the universe. Anyway, back to business. Great bolshevik yarblokoes to thee and thine. (That's from A Clockwork Orange). |

So that's why some people take so long. I thought it was because they had constipation or lazy colons. When I go for a dump I can hardly wait to get out of the place. And I'd only use a public toilet for that in a dire emergency. My boss' wife somehow got herself locked in a toilet cubicle while she... |

St.Patrick's Day is pretty much the only "special day" I have any interest in. Quite why that's an exception, I don't know. But I'm subtle about it. Just a green-ish t-shirt, none of this covered-in-shamrocks rubbish for me. When I performed a couple of songs at the local music place yeste... |

Actually I just took a look, and it turns out that I'm not squatting below parallel at all. My left thigh is parallel and sits on my heel, while my right thigh is "above parallel," again sitting on the (right) heel, and the knee touches the floor. It works for me. I don't do it for exercis... |

I doubt the correlation is all that strong, if it exists at all. What's attractive to one person isn't attractive to another. There might be a sub-cult of women who go for muscular men, but it's probably an awful lot of work to become muscular, and then there's the problem of finding this sub-cult o... |

How did you find out? |

It's nuts though when you can't use it when it's clear who you are Ilm have to renew my passport next year and it'll have exactly the same face and details on it as this one. I've barely altered Yes, the powers that be don't mind inconveniencing ordinary people, do they? At my age it's probably wis... |

Correct, you can't use it to prove your identity after it's expired. The good news is that it might not cost much. I got one for $5 in Arkansas the other day. The hardest part was making sure I'd got all the papers collected together. Various bits of evidence that I am who I say I am. There'll be a ... |

For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. — 2 Timothy 4:3-4 KJV Doesn't sound like much at first glance,... |

I went down well at a local music club. I wasn't expecting to. I played a couple of Irish songs and they don't usually do Irish. Even so near to St. Patrick's Day it's nearly all country and gospel. First time I've been nervous at a gig for about 50 years. |

While emotionally I don't care whether anybody obeys the law or not, and only care if they offend my personal sense of justice, I don't think it would be wise to abolish the law. I think it would lead to even more suffering and instability than what we currently have. I can see how a relatively beni... |

I don't think that being strongly scientific-minded precludes thinking outside the box. As for some of us believing the news 100% and others disbelieving it 100%, my own view is that the news is a mixture of truth, lies, and bias. |

^ Yes. I think the problem with fire alarms is that they go off so often when there's no fire that it leads to complacency. Especially when the weather's uncomfortable. At the university where I used to work we had tons of false alarms. There was some problem with the alarm system being too sensitiv... |
