That is actually a theory some have put forward on autism, because research has shown that it is not as clear cut as people with autism have a lack of empathy. In fact studies have shown that in some ways they must do. For example a famous study in this example is one comparing those with autism and...

Heres something thats been worrying me for a while. My mood is generally very stable, I very rarely cry even if something goes very wrong - most of the time. But I've noticed that if I neglect to eat my evening meal in time, by about 7/8pm I will slowly get irritable to the point that anything will ...

More non existant than spotty. I'm 22, graduated from university last june and have a total work history (all voluntary work) of about 9 weeks and thats before I got my degree. On job seekers now but getting a job seems impossible, and after months of contacting various schemes I've only just got ba...

My advice would be to get back into college and get that psychology degree otherwise you will spend the rest of your life regreting it. Then get a masters and get acredited as a psychologist or phychartrist so you can get paid for those kind of comments. Until then if you plan to still be around you...

If you continue to think like that, you will get laid off. Your getting the work done, it sounds like your doing decently well. To improve on your speed, why not try various things like setting yourself minideadlines before the actual deadlines or carrying a checklist with you, I find writing tasks ...

I like planning life, learning new knowledge and skills and setting goals and reaching them. I like acheiving things, big goals and small ones step by careful step towards the life I want to have in the future and what I want to know about the world. Its what I feel gives my life purpose.

Have you tried asking up front what it was that you did 'wrong'?

I'm at that stage too so I empathise with your difficulties. As for the 'requires good communication' part, if you take a look at the amount of ads that say that, I swear if you stuck by it no one with any social difficulties would ever be employed. My theory so far is that its a fad, one of those s...

Truthfully I rarely feel empathy, but I do feel it. If I have been through a similar situation like a outsider in a group, someone talking behind anothers back or someone scared about entering into a new situation, it hits me very intensely like I'm feeling it myself, though I'm not sure how much of...

13. Theres actually a interesting study in rats, that found out that when a related male was kept with a group of female rats as they grew up they reached maturity markedly later than if they weren't housed with a male. I think thats how the study went, I read it a few years ago. I've personally bee...

I would own a brilliant average sized house that I designed myself to have umpteen hidden passageways and security precausions. It would be far enough away that I don't have to look out my window at other people's yards and no one would ever be close enough to complain about the animals making noise...

[ Odd... it made perfect sense to me... Then again, I have been observing people for years. Someone also said before that that is more tpical of a female conversation, and that would be a correct assumption. From what I understand, conversation like that is used to fill time, and is a form of small...

I was very quiet and apparlently the easiest baby to look after. I didn't crawl at all, just jumped straight to walking which seems unusual. Though I started talkng at about the right time, if a little late I would phrase each syllable as a seperate word and did so for quite a while.

I think aspie-rant put it best, its largely to do with the maths. Of course IQ's are highly questionable as a way to assess intelligence, they are nortoriously terrible at even passing over to different cultures and subgroups within the same culture. I would question their reletiveness on a person w...

Interesting, I hadn't heard that before. It would certainly explain why I've never been able to watch any scenes on the television when theres a cringworthy scene on such as someone embarassing themselves and being thoughally embarassed or when I know someones really looking forward to something and...

Well, I'd say to him cite your source. I happen to have a great sense of humour, I just don't find the mindless stuff funny.
