Hi all, I thought I would recommend a book that I have been reading and getting a lot of enjoyment and good info from - "The Evolution of Desire," by David M. Buss. Why this is relevant to the group here is that it answers, with backup data, a lot of the "unsaid rules" that Aspies have a lot of frus...

I often find it weird that someone would want to have a romantic/loving relationship and not want sex. I mean, what's the point of being with someone of the opposite gender (or same gender, if you are gay) if you don't want to get intimate? Because not everyone thinks intimacy is synonymous with se...

I mean, what's the point of being with someone of the opposite gender (or same gender, if you are gay) if you don't want to get intimate? In other words -- you can live with a best friend now, slee...

Because of the fact that humans are a sensual species, and that sex, when done well, is appealing to all five senses. The fact that if precautions are taken, you're in no more danger than you are when just driving a car (condoms are usually very effective, despite pseudo-scientific myths that are s...

The sad part about stories like these (aside from the usual misery associated with domestic abuse) is that they seem to crop up here a lot at WP. It makes me think that a lot of Aspies settle for substandard relationships, either out of desperation or complete naivete.

That seems very fair. Are you sure he is NT? I mean yes, guys do stupid stuff like that (especially when we are smitten), but this seems to be a bit dense for a NT.

It was unavoidable -- some guys won't take no for an answer. It sucks that he wouldn't take the hint, but we live in this culture where we propagate the myth that "persistence will win her over" -- unfortunately not true in most cases. Both of you are victims here -- If he persists, file a restraini...

This sentence -- very male. "You people" -- I never hear a woman say that. Same with the "wrong side of". Sounds like something Rush would say. Ridiculous. This is an apolitical topic, yet you hide behind a strawman. And yes, you are still dodging. What's the problem, can't you man up and admit tha...

^ How (out of interest)? Do I have a female or male writing pattern? I would have to read more of your stuff -- I know I have, but it doesn't leap out at me in my recollections. It's one of those things that is hard to actually explicitly define -- if I really sat down, maybe I could put out some o...

I'm with Bethie, Miss Techbacher is definitely male. His language in the posts is distinctively so.

This guy is such a misogynist and bigot it is not even remotely funny. Why such a misogynistic person would write under a singularity and futurist title is also disgusting, since NEITHER of those movements espouse such values. He gives himself a very bad name and decreases his own credibility by be...

One of his admirers took hilarious exception to his list too. This admirer agreed with the overall point but thought that Bill Cosby in the Yesteryear Manly Men list was ill-advised and went against his argument. Why? Because Bill Cosby in The Cosby Show sometimes deferred to his wife on some child...

I tried reading it (and will probably still try, just for some laughs and to see this guy's whole spiel), but I'm not impressed. In fact, this document says more about the author than the subject he targets in terms of his own worldview and issues. Things like: -Sweeping generalizations without proo...
