And if so or if not, how did you come to this conclusion ? If you reason and exclude at least religious beliefs, there appear to be none : there is no objective purpose to our lives. The thing that would appear close as a "meaning" without being one would be the fact that life is about perpetuation...

I'll not speak about the American system (by the way, I'm French), but in general. Term limits are adequate for a position like President (for example, in France, the Président de la République now can only serve for two terms). But not really for the deputies or representants in general. It's good ...

When you speak of "thinking", do you mean "all the time"/"consciously" ? I can't really determine the way I think, maybe because most of the time I don't "think". I'm not a really good "thinker" when it comes to consciously tackle a problem. I rely on the "background processes" of my brain, that do ...

Is it common for Aspies to use language in a different manner than NTs My natural writing manner is kind of Proustian. It's further reinforced by the fact I read quasi constantly academic/universitary works, and exigent literary works (many using long or convoluted sentences, or being from preceden...

I'm a bit like you on this matter, ngonz. So I know how it can make some situations awkward. I've some difficulties that can be linked to prosopagnosia, and I'm also terrible at names and at remembering them. I can't determine the age of people too, except in a very general way. I can't really form ...

There was no question this man had serious mental disabilities all his life. We don't have the same data, as it seems. How can you say that ? I'm maybe uninformed. Tell me. I don't agree that "there is not question that...". Else, yes, I agree. I don't think many people would admit the 28th bell ri...

The girl who had a play date (Beth Israel or something of the like) said he was "crazy" and she never wanted to play with him again. Makes you wonder what he did to her... There's quirky (what most of us on here are) and then there's the creepy kind of strange (what everybody says about the people ...

From what I have heard his peers saying, he was "strange since [they] were 5." The real question is why wasn't anything done then. You'd have to know something was wrong if every kid your child was around said he was crazy/scary/creepy/strange and didn't wish to play with him. It's kind of strange ...

Adam was evil, period and nothing else. You know that, from someone who speaks of the merits of high IQ and academic proficiency, that's not a very profound thing to say. A person who takes anothers life clearly doesn't Come on. What's that kind of thinking ? Do you know by the way that Adam is pre...

It's because of the fear that people in the public would associate AS with shooters or violence in general. Several articles state that the last shooter had been diagnosed with AS. Nonetheless, I would not say that AS is the cause for such behavior. The causality of such things is a complex matter....

Er, I may be mistaken, but is the Fragile X syndrome compatible with a more than average intelligence ? Adam Lanza has been described as "extremely bright". It seemed to me that most analyzed cases were of persons from a normal IQ to a very low one if strongly affected ?
