I do it myself, and I can't tell how loud I am talking relative to the rest of the room.
Almost impossible! |

I didn't fit into any of the "groups", either. I was sort of a hippy-goth-punk mix when I was a teen, but I didn't socialize with any of these groups. I was just "weird" by myself off in a corner. Now, I am perpetually stuck in the 1980-1990 music era. I don't list to or buy much music anymore. I ju... |

I don't really mind change all that much, but from time to time and depending upon the situation, I can become rather upset. I don't have a meltdown when something changes, but I do have a tendancy to ruminate about it. This makes me even more upset because I would generally like to leave whatever i... |

I am a loud talker, too. I know what it is like to be told all the time that you are too loud. It is very difficult for me to control my voice because the volume just has a way of creeping up on me. I can wisper and talk quiet in the appropriate situation (i.e. hospital, library, etc...), but no one... |

Yeah... pretty much "almost never" for me. I did manage to get married, however - so that is certainly a good thing! |

- If she likes a male, she can be extremely, noticeably awkward in her attempts to let him know, e.g. she may call him repeatedly. This is because she fixates and doesn't understand societal gender roles. This will change with maturity. Okay.... I totally missed this one. This is really funny - "Thi... |

I think a lot of these fit me well..... however.... I wonder if it doesn't just describe a personality type rather than a disorder? I think the bit about massive misdiagnosis and a parade of ineffective and harmful psychiatric medications and treatments kinda eliminates that possibility.. It's the ... |

I think a lot of these fit me well..... however.... I wonder if it doesn't just describe a personality type rather than a disorder? ASD's are based on a totally different set of criteria that are a lot less subjective...... So far as describing a "stereotypical AS female" is concerned.... the list c... |

Livia!! Cheer up!! You "ARE" normal....... there is nothing particularly abnormal about having AS. Most of us on here truly believe that our AS is just a "difference" and not a "disability". So what it there is no cure! There are countless coping strategies and a huge community of people (i.e. Wrong... |

Someone on here (can't recall who...must be my ADD.... :lmao: ) said that everyone reacts differently to different drugs. I could not agree more with this statement. I am a firm believer that less medication is best, but from time to time one may find that the need the medication and that benefits f... |

Visual thinking, internal dialogues, interaction rehearsals, peripheral glimpses ... and all of it can go away instantly if I try to think about whatever is going on or turn my head to look! The frustrating part, however, is having "pictures of thought" quite clear in my mind and being sure I can e... |

I have a problem somewhat similar to this. I am not too bad at recognising people when they are where they are supposed to be. ie parents of children in my childs class are at school. However if I see them anywhere else I get confused.Because we live in a small country town I see the same people ev... |

OMG! This is SO funny because I was literally just talking about this with my therapist! I belong to a quilting guild. The majority of women in the guild are significantly older than me. I would guess that the average age is likely some place between 55 to 65.... maybe older. Long story short... I s... |
