Thanks for everyone’s replies, I truly appreciate it. It felt good to be heard and understood. I never expected that her end of life care would be totally serene and stress free, but I wish it wasn’t nearly as upsetting for her as it was. I think about what she was feeling during the whole thing and...

My mum didn’t get to have a peaceful death. She slowly deteriorated due to a very insidious illness that caused her immense agony, so much so that even opioids weren’t enough to stop the pain. She died young. She really didn’t want to die and didn’t plan for anything like this. She was distressed an...

Not only am I a hoarder but I was raised by hoarders. I used to get very upset to the point of panic if I had to throw away something because I hate being wasteful. I’m not as bad now, though my house desperately needs to be decluttered. I’m slightly comforted by the fact that my psychiatrist is als...

I don’t really have a list, per se, but I do know what my dealbreakers are. I won’t put up with the following: - Someone who always seems to be victim in all of their previous relationships (I find that very suspicious as it’s often a ploy to gain sympathy). - Violating my privacy - Violating my bod...

You might find someone who is smart, but you also need to get to know them as a person and form a bond that goes beyond intellect. I’ve met a lot of people who were smart but also had awful personalities. I admire intelligence and might appreciate an intellectual partner, but I mostly care about som...

This is something I am commonly told by others when I mention my struggles in establishing a relationship. Even those who tell me there's nothing wrong with me tell me to work on myself. I honestly don't know how to go about this or even if it's possible for me. I have been in a routine for most of...

Yes, and it’s not exclusive to bipolar disorder either as unipolar depression can also have psychotic features. Even if you don’t have psychosis, mood disorders do impair your thinking. I’m not entirely sure what kind of mood disorder I have, but a few months ago I became very paranoid about my psyc...

I just go to work anyway and try to tough it out. Then I would contact my GP or my psychiatrist and ask about what to do about my insomnia. Usually I’m prescribed zopiclone for a few days. Stimulants are no substitute for sleep. You might be more alert but you won’t function properly. It might also ...

It’s not that people hate involuntary celibates. They hate the incel subculture and how it promotes a toxic, suicidal (sometimes homicidal) worldview. Taking the black pill is no different than a pro-ana forum or a pro self harm forum. The ideology of incel communities are literally glorifying, rati...

I can’t really say for sure. I don’t have super high standards for physical appearance as I don’t really have an “ideal” when it comes to a partner. Weight would only be an issue for me if that person couldn’t function because of their weight, but that’s less of an appearance issue and more of a “I ...

I’m exhausted but my brain won’t shut up. I’ve finally given in and taken a sleeping pill. Not sure how long this will take. My head hurts.

I feel so guilty because I saw red flags ages ago, but let it slide thinking that I was being irrational. Now I wish I had trusted my gut because after a recent incident, I’m almost certain that he’s emotionally abusing her. I’m not asking for input about whether my suspicions are correct because it...

I’m not saying that I literally hear other people’s thoughts or anything like that. It’s just that I tend to struggle with racing thoughts, which is especially bad at night time. The worst part is that these racing thoughts are of usually my own inner monologue but instead random voices (internal on...

The short answer is no, there’s no way to be emotionally prepared for puberty. However I think it’s good to teach her about what she might expect in her future and talk about periods as a normal thing around her, i.e showing her the sanitary items and which ones you use. I don’t remember ever seeing...

Never. I credit depression for making me numb. However I think SSRI’s are beginning to work less well on me and I still experience extreme mood swings and anxiety. I can’t say for certain if the medication is ineffective or if my mental health is actually worse than I thought.
