Yes, I've always thought it must be disgusting for a woman's partner, getting lipstick and foundation and all that other gunk on himself (or herself) when kissing her, or stroking her face. Yuck. And all that contorting to put on or take off clothes without smearing makeup all over them. And all the...

Yes, even when the change is for the better--by which I mean, even when I prefer the new plan to the old one. It takes me a few minutes to get over the fact change has occurred, but then I'm usually on board. (Unless I detest the new plan. :-) )

I worked very hard most of my life to fit in, and didn't find out about my autism until I was in my mid-thirties (self-diagnosed after my daughter got diagnosed). Even so, I was always an odd fish. I buy several of the same item of clothing--same color--and wear them until they fall apart, t...

I am sooo glad to see someone else has that problem with people trying to turn what you like to do into something you should make money on. It seems like everything I do, someone says that to me. Art--"sell it" or much worse "get a booth and sell it at an event" Research--"people would pay you to d...

I used this website: http://www.weightlossresources.co.uk. Loseit! Is the same thing, only entirely free. No, I'm sure it isn't exactly the same thing, but it may be what suits your needs. I mention what I used so that the person who originally asked the question has a variety of options to look at...

I think Wuffles hits it on the nose, at least for some of us. I came to the Aspie thing late in life (mid-thirties), after a lifetime of working my butt off to fit in and be normal. It's taken me another almost-decade to realize that I don't even WANT to do a quarter of the social things I do...I do...

I live in near-overwhelm all the time, with three kids. In addition to the suggestions above, I can add something I discovered recently (not that I am able to remember it all the time): I actually enjoy the process of organizing and cleaning, seeing order arise out of chaos. So I try to tap into THA...

I used this website: http://www.weightlossresources.co.uk. No diets or points or that kind of thing; just a great tracking system for everything you eat and all the exercise you do. (The site also has lots of articles, and a discussion forum area.) If you like managing data and viewing charts and ca...

Ever since I was young, I've looked forward to growing old. Probably because of the "old" women I knew when I was a child, being gray-haired and wrinkled is associated with being content, intelligent, taking no bull from anyone, determining how one wants to lead one's life, and having the time and f...

AuntyCC, how old is your daughter? Mine is now 8, and we have learned that three is a terrible number of girls together. Boys seem to do fine, but with girls, it's all two-against-one, however much all three girls like each other. So maybe go with one friend, or three if you feel really adventurous ...

Okay, so I posted in a forum that is clearly intended for parents of AS children, not for parents who themselves are AS. And apparently I didn't make it quite clear that I meant parents who are themselves AS, wherever their children are on the spectrum. I think you made it quite clear. And my point...

Vee, I think it could be great for both partners, too. One of my stressors is that it really sucks to come downstairs where the rest of your family is enjoying music or a TV program and know that, now you've entered the room, they all feel compelled to turn down the volume, and they no longer feel f...

DaWalker, excellent point - I hadn't thought of that, but indeed, after a first orgasm, penetration is much easier for me to enjoy. Definitely a trick worth trying for the OP.

I really wish I'd bought them earlier. I resisted for so long, thinking it wouldn't make that much of a difference and they'd be a pain to wear, so I'd end up tossing them in a drawer. But they make a TON of difference and for the first time in eons, maybe ever, I don't feel defensive about noise. I...
