Hm, good article. You know, stuff like this is hardly uncommon, yet all the politicians will still say the parents were doing a good job and it's the kid's fault for not bending over and taking the Christ. Fundamentalist Christianity is child abuse; when are people gonna learn?

Supersteve challenges God to create something which he cannot subsequently destroy. But if God was able to create such a thing but didn't exercise this ability, then the hypothetical object wouldn't exist for God to not be able to destroy, hence the argument is null and void. How about that, hm?

Oh? But I thought the English and Europeans in general prided themselves on their, ah, long tapestry of historical achievements. To not teach the bad stuff is the same as pretending that stuff never happened. As arrogant as some Americans are, at least we don't deny the Native American genocide, or ...

atheists don't want to believe in God. Which means they have no convictions. Oh, is that so? Didn't you know that it's possible to have convictions about things other than religion? For example, I have a pretty strong conviction that you're a dolt. So your basis for morality is in God's good word, ...

there's no such thing as a hex and if a witch says there is then he or she isn't a witch all that is bull sh** I think one of the most tiresome things about modern Wicca is this Wendy the Good Little Witch crusading. Magic in its purest form is pulling the strings of reality toward an end, be it fo...

Ah, Wicca. It's more user-friendly than Chaos, less pretentious than Thelema, and less weighted down with philosophy and metaphor than Qabbalah. Pagan without being too pagan. You don't even have to give up Christmas and Easter!

I think the second option is contradictory to itself. A just God wouldn't impose a "one true faith" with no means of identifying that faith as the true one. Anyway, "one true faith" is complete BS. Even if God exists, religion is a human construct. Why would an all-powerful being care if people deci...

Atheists have it easy. A Christian fanatic goes up to them and says, "Convert or die." Atheists have no compunction against saying, "OK" and then doing the opposite. Just because we can backslide and lie about our beliefs doesn't mean we like doing it. That's not exactly "having it easy." And unspe...

"Hate crime" is defined in Sweden as a crime committed by a member of a majority group(Swede or Christian) against a member of a minority group defined by its race, religion, ethnic origin or simply homosexuals. Wow, that's awful. That reasoning is so flawed I don't even know where to begin. What, ...

Of course to really appreciate the Bible, you have to know Hebrew and Greek and read it in its original language. Particularly in the Old Testament, a lot of its subtleties were lost in translation.

If you ask me, Catholicism takes all the worst aspects of Christianity and old-world paganism. The intolerance and cultishness respectively, but that's to be expected. Catholicism is the part of Christianity which has refused to change with the times while other denominations have risen and fallen o...

I tried reading it one time. I wanted to be fair, you know, give it a chance... Well, I got about as far as "And John begat Paul and Paul begat Simon and Simon begat Garfunkle..." The Bible really needs an update. I mean, if I were an English teacher I'd have to give whoever translated it an F. Ther...

A. Make me one with everything

Vendor: Alright, that'll be three fifty.

Buddhist: I gave you a five, what about my change?
Vendor: Change must come from within.

Religion helps give hope to a lot of people who would otherwise feel hopeless. Sure, religion is often used as a blunt object and crammed down other people's throats, but you can't tell me atheists do the same thing. Like this jackass Dan Barker. Faith is a cop-out. It is intellectual bankruptcy. If...
