I am going to go against the grain and offer up another possibility. He may have a crush on you. This crush is socially unacceptable because you are "the weird girl" so he has to hide it from his friends and make it seem like standard bullying. Why do I think this? Because his bullying has such an ...

Many terrorist a just nihilistic and suicidal. In fact I suspect that the columbine shooters were essentially terrorists without a cause. I often wonder if the ranks of terrorism arent filled with twisted young men who may have the same syndrome as our Columbine/virginia tech mass murderers, but hav...

Great Vowel Shift, surely you don't mean Grimm's first law? (It's a law that made all the p's sound like an f (pater -> father) along with a few other vowels) In this regard, it's been said that French is closer to Latin somehow. Also, the difference between french and english is that the english l...

I've always equated the far left with statism and less freedom so I don't see where you're coming from. Message from planet Earth: The far left equals Stalin. The far right equal Hitler! Its the "far" thats significant -not whether its followed by left nor right. Where Im "coming from" is simply st...

China is embracing capitalism, but not democracy. Thus it is simply moving from Communism to facism ( authoritarian goverment but with a free enterprise economy) without making a stop at democracy. Though its rulers would never call themselves "facists". So its hardly surprising that its starting to...

I like the second one better at first glance, because it's shorter. Also, I think that the phrase "dark and stormy night" has a reputation as a cliche way to start a story. Yes. Dont use "dark and stormy night' unless its a spoof.. The second one does make you wanna read on if for no other reason t...

Canada is about the same physical size as the USA but has always had about one tenth of the US's population.. It might be that when a young frontier country reaches a certain population density it has to 'grow up' and decide its idenity. At that juncture political upheavals happen. Canada only recen...

I believe in creation, and disbelieve in evolution. The harmony, design and interdependence of everything makes so much sense as a creation and so much nonsense as something that inched its way to this form step by blind, random step. There is too much complex design for there not to have been a de...

Why mistrust a superbeing? If his goal was to annihilate you, he could do it anytime, anywhere, without needing to trick you into it. Again you are trying to out think a superbeing. That's definitely a bad habit. Bernie Madoff was no superbeing but he gulled a lot of very bright people with the "tr...

I dunno. If I were a parent with children and thus were concerned about my children viewing him as a role model- I might give a damn about "Tiger's Wood". Not only rock and movie stars- but--you name it- even politicians, and astronauts, have groupies. So its hardly newsworthy that Tiger Woods would...
