This is a forum dedicated primarily to our LGBT+ userbase. It is therefore not an appropriate place to uncritically regurgitate queerphobic propaganda. I would suggest reading the actual literature on the subject.

This is the opposite of what is happening. Yes Tavistock is closing, but that's because it was struggling to keep up with demand, not because of "medical negligence". Instead of having one clinic serving the whole of England, we will have two clinics, one in London (where Tavistock is) and...

I don’t care about “the human race”, but I do care about the individual humans who make up humanity. Overpopulation is not a concern. Resource use and environmental degradation are concerns, but we can manage them. Consenting to be born, inevitable suffering of life - well, yes. I think most people ...

Okay, the 2016 primary was conspiracy. I don’t think the Clinton campaign being given an audience question in advance at a single town hall damages the democratic process in a significant way. 90% of the media Americans consume is owned by six corporations. Who do you think runs them? The rank and ...

Sorry for your loss. Sounds like he lived a full and long life, which is something to be grateful for. I hope your husband’s father and cousin both cope with the loss of one of their closest family members.

Sounds like you could benefit from a prescription of beta blockers. They won’t get rid of the anxiety but they will help with managing the worst physical symptoms. Ask your doctor about propranolol (don’t worry, it’s a generic).

I feel like the most likely replacement in the event of a contested convention would probably have been a different former VP - Joe Biden. We already know he’s more popular with Democrats than Sanders, and more popular with Americans than Trump. Of course 2016 was not 2020. Hillary and Biden are th...

Sanders would probably have been destroyed by Trump in 2016, and if he had won, would certainly have struggled in 2020. The Republicans would have kept Scalia’s seat open, and then done the same with Ginsburg’s seat - and the same for Kennedy’s, if he even retired. Sanders in 2020 gets destroyed ove...

The more likely explanation is that the religious right found the Simpsons to be too crude and largely tuned out in the early 90s at the peak of “Bartmania”. They also, bluntly, have far less reason to care. I doubt any Christian kids have people come up to them in the playground and call them Reve...

This is the Haven, so I will try not to push any political view, and that inevitably means I will be quite superficial. If you want a more detailed answer then posting in PPR might be a good idea. Firstly, I think you might be looking on 2019 with slightly rose-tinted glasses. It was a time of insta...

However Indians in the US are a model minority and most would be too busy with career/business/study and have little time to invest in this issue and probably couldn't care less about Azaria/Apu. Yes, most Indians in the US probably don’t think about this very much. That’s not because Indians are “...

Maybe because they think that would reflect badly on their complaints about “wokeness” - the pot calling the kettle black. The show and the character long predate wokeness and the protests against it, the more likely explanation is that they found the character funny as they recognized his foibles ...

Alright, two parts to this post. I finally worked out how to do the mod tags! (It isn’t hard, I just haven’t tried before) Please remember to engage constructively with each other. Don’t prod each other to bait a reaction, don’t paint with a broad brush, the usual stuff that I shouldn’t really have ...

It seems hard to make the case that “media lies” caused either of the Gulf Wars. In both cases, the lies flowed from governments to the media, not the other way around. If the New York Post or the Washington Times had consistently criticised the Bushes over their respective wars then it probably wou...

Not going to respond to any individual points, because Jesus Christ, I’m not sure what anyone thinks they’re achieving. In general, if you have an issue with moderation, then posting about it here seems fine. But don’t bring individual users into it. If you do wish to present a “case against” a user...
