I just care about how I look in public. I don't like being stared at or laughed at, it makes me feel unhappy. I don't want people thinking I'm some sort of threat, or that I'm "mad". Also not masking in public might lead to bullying. I have an autistic friend who stims in public (like flap...

But if you don't mask and you end up upsetting people or being judged by strangers, wouldn't that cause anxiety/depression too? Depends on your social context. If you're being forced to interact with ableist people on their terms, masking might be your best option. But if you can, it's far better t...

Online socialising has different rules than offline, but my ADHD makes offline socialising easier while my social anxiety makes online socialising easier. Sometimes it's an effort to remember to message people back or to know the right things to say when someone is confiding in me. I prefer to physi...

But if you don't mask and you end up upsetting people or being judged by strangers, wouldn't that cause anxiety/depression too? I masked more as a child than I do now. Now I just mask subconsciously when at work or around people I know, or not at all, but when I'm in public on my own I feel I have t...

I do tend to overanalyze things and feel hurt easily. But my mum has always been the same and she's neurotypical but with anxiety. So it might be an anxiety/depression thing, being oversensitive.

Have you done an online version?

Sorry, my mistake, I meant ONLINE I'm ISFP-T.

Offline I'm INFJ I think (I know it had an F and a J).

I feel so stupid. I can put my hair in a ponytail (learned that years ago) but I just can't put it into a bun. I've watched various Youtube tutorials on how to do it but I still can't. When I have put it into a bun it just becomes loose straight away, and if I keep doing it it just makes my hair sta...

I class shutdowns under the meltdown category.

I was affected by most of the key symptoms, but only mildly, and I don't have shutdowns. I don't seem to have some of these symptoms any more, all my problem is is anxiety and maybe some social awkwardness.

I always see these 6 symptoms as "key symptoms" of ASD:-

1. Social awkwardness or social cluelessness
2. Routine/repetitiveness
3. Special interests
4. Meltdowns
5. Sensory issues
6. Anxiety

Apologies if I haven't worded it well.

This is exactly how I feel about clubbing. I get upset at the fact that everyone but me has been clubbing at least once in their lives, and I get jealous when I see my cousins out getting drunk with friends on Facebook. But I hate clubbing and getting drunk, but it still doesn't stop me getting jeal...

In my experience I've found that women (NT or otherwise) are better at dealing with an emotionally distressed person than men are (NT or otherwise). When I'm distressed or upset, I seek reassurance and sympathy, not advice. But then you can't really complain about people giving you advice because th...

I always thought it was a social standard not to greet strangers when you walk past each other, but so many people I know greet every stranger that they pass whenever we're out (unless we are in a busy place). I started to find it annoying. It seems that it doesn't matter what facial expression they...

I still as I have said before in another thread find it hard to accept when some people say ''we have to learn to live with this'' but how can we learn to live it when virus kills more people than flu, is more contagious, and can make more people ill to the point where health services struggle with...
