A lot of people, my age and older, aren't in high jobs, including my (NT) parents. But what bothers me is everybody I know seem to be in full-time work while I've never done any more than 30 hours a week, and whenever I've done 30 hours it's only overtime, not my contracted hours. And other people m...

Last weekend my mother very gracefully and generously handed me some money specifically to buy myself some new shoes, because she knows about my money struggles and wanted to help out. I didn't want to keep it from my boyfriend, but I don't like hiding things from him so I said that my mum had given...

Autistics don't lack empathy. I'm starting to see here on WP that people here understand NTs perspectives more than NTs understand our perspectives. In fact people here are too empathetic sometimes, and don't think about themselves enough. So saying autistics lack empathy is a bit like saying dyslex...

This is what the pandemic is doing, it's causing people to argue or even turn against each other, because some people are more paranoid than others. Are both your parents vaccinated? The whole point of the vaccines is to protect people from getting ill from COVID if they do catch it, and also having...

I think I just want to be neurotypical for the sake of being in the majority. I don't like being in a minority that gets misunderstood and stigmatized.

I'm Aspie but I'm subconsciously focused on people. Even my special interests were centred around people. Social approval from others is more important to me than learning facts. And neurotypicals don't do everything to prove themselves to others, they do sometimes do some things because they enjoy ...

If I was ever forced to make such a video it would be: "Hi everyone. I'm going to show you how to ________ . Step 1 .... Step 2 ... Step 3 ..... (demonstrations with ambient noise deleted). For a written summary of instructions go to the (time) mark. Thank you!" Done. Wherever possible I ...

I know what it is, I just thought there was a term for it. It's like they're jokingly arguing with you. I like when people do that.

I hardly burp, but when I do it sounds like a small gulping sound and makes me jump, and leaves a mild taste in my mouth of vomit (but only mild and for a couple of seconds). I find it such a gross sensation, I never know how people manage to do that several times every day, much louder too. :eew:

I hate Google and YouTube. Google is full of useless outdated information or it comes up with the results you aren't looking for. YouTube has become a money grabbing zone where they outsmart you in watching their sh***y ads because they panic when you have found a way to bypass their ads so you don...

I know I should get it, but I’m scared it might do more harm than good. I’m worried about my cerebral palsy & psoriasis. I wonder will it be ok for Aspergers people? What if I lose feelings in my legs or my arm, it happened before. Speak to your doctor if you're concerned. Having Asperger's/aut...

When people yell or argue with you, but they're totally on your side and are being nice. It's a pleasant sort of thing. I can't explain unless I use an example. So here's an example. A few weeks ago I had taken a week off work, but a meeting was scheduled halfway through that week and I felt like I ...

I was not really obvious, but I did go through a phase of wringing my hands when I was about 12-14. But I have a couple of videos of me as a younger child and you wouldn't think I was on the spectrum at all; I was sociable and didn't stim or display any awkward body language. Plus one of them was fi...
