Something happened to me when I was in my mid-20s. My OCD symptoms I'd had as a kid came back real strong and I started having trouble sleeping. This eventually led to my addictions to sleep meds. My mom says I had a nervous breakdown. I don't know what it was but I haven't been the same since, and...

It really does take a lot for me to become embarrassed.

To some extent, I don't feel depression, or even sadness, really, most of the time.

I also don't feel jaded about life, I can't really hang on to emotions like that and I don't like to deal with people who do, either.

Nicotine itself is still carcinogenic and the patch carries some cardiovascular risks.

The brain stops developing around this time. I have the same traits that I've always had but I feel much less flexible now, my ability to swing into NT mode when necessary is a bit compromised and I definitely do make more social blunders, now. This is something that didn't happen often before, I ju...

Yes, "NT" is also a spectrum. If it weren't, Asperger's wouldn't be so difficult to diagnose in some cases. She could be somewhere on the BAP and still be NT, especially since she's your cousin, as some traits can randomly pop up in different individuals all over one's family tree. As far as having ...

I say no. I try to steer clear of drama queens and very reactive people, and *usually* I can tel when I'm being manipulated. In the past, this wasn't always true. If you can tell, I think it's fine to acknowledge it with the person who's manipulating you even if this is considered weird. Just outrig...

From what you say, you are simply "whole picture oriented". It's just a learning/thinking style, not a specific condition. Then autism is not only being detail oriented. The opposite of autism is psychosis if you consider the perception (autists are hyper-perceptive and psychotics are hypo-percepti...

I think the two are definitely related. I voted that I don't have AS or gender issues, but I do have and have had gender dyspohria for as long as I can remember. I don't consider this an *issue*. It's not a problem for me, and it's not uncommon, even in "normal", heterosexual people. It makes sense ...
