Changing my gender presentation to match my voice and mannerisms has made it much easier to socialize!
Seems obvious but it took me decades to figure out!

Trying to match my birth gender put me in the "uncanny valley" between male and female.

Some ideas.
Stay only a short time.
Sit off to one side where it is quieter.
Sometimes sitting in the front row of a presentation is best because it is easier to tune out distractions.
Make sure you get plenty of sleep before going!
Layer your clothes so you can easily adjust to the temperature.

A very useful relationship skill is learning to listen to a partner.
Obviously you can't do that if you are constantly talking about your special interest.

I've gotten help from my next door neighbors.

Privately funded vocational rehab can often do whatever they want with deciding who is eligible for services.

I went to Brooks Brothers at a mall in the 1990s and they wouldn't sell me a suit!
I was too small for anything to fit properly in the men's or boy's department.

Now that I have gained twenty pounds I can now wear the smallest women's sizes. 8O

I have some very nice golf clothes as well as a set of custom golf clubs. :D

The last summer of work they put in a dress code that no longer allowed shorts.
But, it allowed wearing skirts to work.
Yes, I shaved my legs. :D
