Women often fail to get properly diagnosed because it is easier for females to mask or appear normal than males. But, it can take a lot out of you to do that. Social encounters can be exhausting for those on the spectrum. A common mistake is to over-compensate for your weaknesses. Many can't hold a ... |

Warehouse jobs are easy to find. Amazon is building warehouses all over the place. Photography jobs are much harder as their are a lot of folks that want those jobs. Filming jobs are really hard to get. |

"Superpower" can be a accurate name as it correctly conveys the situation. Someone who shows a superpower makes normal people nervous. And normal people tend to make unreasonable expectations on those with superpowers.
Which is exactly what a lot of those on the spectrum experience. |

It may help to put together a list of stuff do. Then do one or two things every day to get into routine of doing stuff.
It may not seem like much but it may help. |

Welcome SttelersFan! Congratulations on being together seven years! A support person can really help someone with autism reduce their anxiety issues. Often, the world expects too much of someone with autism, as someone that smart should be able to do.... The reality is that she can do some things bu... |

A clue is that you don't remember if this was a problem before or not. It may be that you had a very structured childhood and early adulthood. Your day was filled with different activities and you never had the opportunity to do something for hours. I know that when I first started working it was ha... |

One idea may be to draw pictures! If you are a visual thinker it can be better to relate to others via pictures!
I know someone who got his job because he demonstrated a ham radio project he built.
I saw someplace someone made little frogs as a hobby and gave one to the person who interviewed him! |

In Connecticut mental health services stop when you turn 18. I asked a lady about this on disability. Yes, it can be helpful to have someone outline your issues if you can't figure them out yourself. But, I think most managers don't want to know. If you need something special to do your work it may ... |

I've discovered that day trips, if properly planned, can be just as interesting and fun as longer trips. If you want to study other cultures, there are often indigenous cultures hidden away where you live! There may be museums you can visit not far from where you live. Two ways of finding good food.... |

Many Aspies suffer from executive function difficulties and have difficulty actually going stuff. This can be a serious problem in the jobs you want as they don't have the management who can deal with that. Some Aspies get lucky and find a manager that enables them to work efficiently. One idea is t... |

Yes, a poor pair of scissors will cause split ends! You could experiment on a few hairs to see whether any will give a good cut but for $16 I just bought the proper tool. |
