I approached it from a very tried and tested method - research and experimentation. I tried it on with men, women, neutral, you name it. I don't see what the fuss is about, and prefer to skip it altogether. Hence asexual.

Little black book :) I have a notebook that gets everything written down in it. Not just day to day To Do lists though, maybe things I wanted to look into, buy, tell someone, whatever. I'm paranoid someone will get their hands on it, though. My life literally is an open book.

I wondered if this was an aspie thing, or just yet another weird thing of mine. So recently, I'm stuck back in a psychiatrist's office. NOT because I need help - indeed, I despite psychiatry and would have nothing whatsoever to do with it if the medical profession in my country wasn't so blatantly t...

(I also have a restored muscle car which is awesome but now I'm just showing off) That's awesome - I love cars as well, am in the process of doing up a little bomb I bought ironically enough, after a crash took out mine a ew years ago) street-rod style. I love being on the road and that's one of th...

This might be a weird little topic but I know many autistic peoples have trouble with driving, so I thought I'd ask. I never had problems with driving - I drive everywhere and have for years, had no trouble learning, and so on. But I have a scheme to change my career and one part of that required a ...

I wondered if this was (yet another) autistic thing, or just a personality trait due to being an unsure, hesitant sort of person. But I did wonder if this is related to some motor neuron functioning ability. Apparently, I'm too slow. According to most people who like to get aggressive about it, they...

I never got the whole aspie-fail-at-driving thing until recently - when I went to learn to drive a truck, and WHAM. And I drive my car fine, always have. So, if you're starting out, start in something small, like a hatchback? Maybe problems with dimensional awareness come into the whole aspie proble...

True, the surgery has come a long way in recent years, but I wasn't talking about that kind of day-to-day acceptance, that's easy. I meant the only kind of acceptance they really care about, that romantic acceptance, that will to be desired and loved as men or women, not as a "person-of-anomalous-s...

Yup. If I fit into any of those boxes it's generally genderqueer, and in the middle of medical transition. I keep a don't ask, don't tell kind of policy.

I've been thinking about this too, and the way I figure it, the way to cope with being very different is to live an unconventional lifestyle, filled with unusual people and uncommon focuses. Say if you're aspie, transgendered, queer, black, Pagan, working-class, and have a physical disability, you'r...

For me, depends on who I am in what situation. If in one situation I'm supposed to be male, I'll accommodate for that (which isn't all that uncomfortable, really - it's weird at first but you get used to it) or if I'm in a female situation, I'll adjust to accommodate that (which can feel a bit odd, ...

Awkward? Or, that may well be due to being aspie. Or asexual. Or you know ... alive. What's it like being cis anyone? I've never not been trans Good one! I agree. But in an effort to address the slant you're going for in your paper - what is it about being a transgendered person that could set you o...

1. How do you know for sure? Because I am. It's just something that is - it's who I am - it helps to understand the perspectives of other gender-variant people, though, and realize that yes, you share some similarities and thus, you could identify as belonging to that group. 2. How old is the averag...

I think there was another asex topic here before - looking that up might be insightful for you. Asexual here, too. Am everything-minority. My junk works just fine, but I'd actually rather it didn't, as I dislike everything about sexuality and would happily simply bypass the whole lot. And people can...

Now, before the ranting, I thought I was using a communication technique I actually read about as being effective - "mirroring." As in, demonstrating you understand and confirming instructions by repeating the message back to the speaker in your own words. Apparently, not safe for work. New (and sho...

I don't know if it's relevant to you but it's commonly noticed the other way around, too. Transguys starting testosterone notice a decrease in their emotions, often noting they "can't cry." Maybe for transgirls it's the opposite - HRT naturally cranks up the emotions. Might be hard to deal with, whe...
