Some sounds that make me flinch:

1) Babies crying

2) The sounds of cars driving on wet pavement. For my sanity's sake, the door has to be closed after it rains as my spine crawls every time a car drives past.

3) Brahms' lullaby

I was born normally, but my parents had issues with my mom getting pregnant. She had endometriosis and needed surgery before she was able to get pregnant. My younger, very NT, sister, was also born normally. My mother had much of the same problem, Tuttle. She had problems with her "plumbing" (as sh...

My voice is pretty monotone except for the volume of my voice. My cadence pretty much stays the same.

I apparently have quite a high speaking voice, and I think my intonation makes me sound young - I never developed the sophisticated intonation that English women normally develop as they move into adulthood. I talk rather fast and I can stumble over words unless I carefully monitor how I'm speaking...

I have trouble with the "a" sound, or at least I'm given trouble over it. Like I put a lot of stress on it, but I'm not trying to, nor, once again, can I really hear it. To say "alcohol", it tends to catch people's attention the most. Plus between "al" and "co" it's best described as a "drop and cl...

Ha! It's funny to see this topic here today because my big sister visited me today and told me she always loved my accent. Yup, I have one, and have had it pointed out by people that live in the same area all my life. I don't really know what it sounds like to others. (I have gotten made fun of for...

I'm American. I had an accent that sounded either English or Swedish to people as a kid, but grew out of it mostly (although a speech therapist could detect it when I was 19). Well, according to those who questioned me as a child and adolescent, many confused my accent for that of a German. I also ...

I know several Aspies who have peculiar voices and/or accents that do not match those of people who live in the same place as they do (and not just because they are foreigners). Do any of you have voices or accents that are kind of... 'strange' compared to peoples' who live around you? I have a pec...

All foetuses swallow amniotic fluid, that's what gets their digestive systems "up and running" before birth.

Isn't the proper plural for foetus actually foeti as the plural for words that end in -us is -i?

Most of the AS people I've seen have big heads... but that's just two out of three.

And what happens if the baby isn't delivered and just stays in there?

I have a large head myself with a prominent forehead. In fact, my forehead seems to take up at least 40% of the surface of my face!

I was born via Cesarean-section 28 years ago. My mother had a difficult pregnancy, including preclemsia. Prior to my conception, my mother had a partial hysterectomy resulting in the removal of 1 1/2 of her ovaries and a fraction of her uterus. She was given odds of 1 in 3,000,000 of conception. Any...

I have a problem with visualising the description of a character. I just cannot form an image of them in my head. I also have a problem with describing people. If you asked me to describe the physical appearance of someone I know, I would be flummoxed. I am also horrible at trying to guesstimate som...

Ah, good. Then I'm not the only one. Phew! I don't know if it's a sensory thing for me or if I'm secretly worried that I'm not good at it (I think I'm okay, meh... don't really care). It must be sensory because it just seems like such a weird and gross thing for people to do. You're really go...

The guy I'm dating right now is my first boyfriend and the idea of actually sleeping with him pretty much disgusts me. I can do other sexual things with him, but actual penetration just plain bothers me. I think it may be because I hate kissing so much. Had to edit so much so I wouldn't be accused ...
