Anyone been on any medication for anxiety or mood issues that's actually worked? So far I've been on citalopram, fluoxetine, risperidone, sertraline and quetiapine but I keep coming off the because the side effects seem to outweigh any benefits, but finding it really hard to cope. My mood is low mos...

Can totally relate to this- I've never been in a relationship, lived on my own, had a 'real' job for more than a few months, been on a date, been drunk, had a 'social circle'... Could go on! I feel like a failed adult most of the time and like my life should have stopped aged 12 but it didn't and I'...

I'm feeling really lonely and isolated at the moment :( I can't seem to make or keep friends and it's really getting me down. I'm nearly 30 and I only have one 'real' friend but she lives 300 miles away so I don't get to see her that much. There are some kids I used to babysit who I'm really close t...

I've been thinking more about suicide recently since some of my heroes are dropping like flies. In a sense the Eagles, Bowie, etc were my teachers and mentors. Kinda makes everything I've learned over years superfluous, doesn't it? Like it didn't matter at all. Me too :/ Bowie was my obsession for ...

Yep :/ I call it brain fuzz and happens when there's a lot going on (usually emotionally- I get overwhelming emotions that are hard to deal with) and my brain sort of 'shuts down'. Takes ages to clear and I hate it because everything seems slower and less 'real' than usual. No idea how to get rid of...

I relate and honestly it feels like a gunshot wound when it happens, I am currently non verbal over losing friends cause I am afraid if I get any, I'll just get hurt again. Yes, that's it exactly- it's horrible and I'm feeling exactly the same way. Really hope it gets better for you soon. Thank you...

I love Homeland. It's the most relateable television example of bipolar disorder for me. Definitely! I don't have bipolar but I can really relate to Carrie in so many ways. I'm actually writing an essay about the crossover in traits between bipolar and ASD at the moment. I have a Carrie blog at car...

I've posted really similar stuff before but I'm finding it really, really hard to make and keep friends and I'm so scared I'll never be able to actually have a 'real' friend. Recently, my best friend of 20 years said that she didn't want me to contact her any more because I was messaging her too muc...

You really hurt me by visiting UK and not telling me you were here. I know we haven't been super close for a long time but you're still my best friend and even if you didn't want to see me, it would have been nice to hear from you rather than seeing that you're here via FB. I'm sorry I've upset you,...

I'm assuming you've tried this, but have you given clear boundaries? I get obsessed with people (or used to, not so much now) and it really, really helps if they've given me specific 'rules' e.g. only call/text at certain times, no more than once a week etc. It can be hard to accept (I was really up...

Thanks everyone- really good points about electrolytes. The problem I have is that I also panic about taking too many- I was adding electrolyte tablets to my water but didn't want to overdo it, and I have no idea how to work out the balance. I really want to do a v long run next year (145 miles) but...

I'd suggest replenishing your electrolytes frequently while your running, and drink a sh*t ton of water. Isn't drinking "a sh*t ton of water" is a good way to dangerously dilute your electrolytes? Yep, you're right :/ really hard to get the balance right! I was eating a banana and drinking electrol...
