I was never into the social club aspect. Most churches are primarily social clubs, designed for meeting people similar to yourself and hanging out, dating, etc.. That's why churches are so homogenous, why Christians often meet their spouses at church, and the reason for their laser-like focus on sex...

Males are biologically the expendable sex. Biologically but not socially or emotionally. The help is there for many of these men, but it's difficult to get these men to accept it. Shelters offer very little help... A homeless person staying in a shelter is still homeless. They still have nowhere to...

A lot of homeless shelters and housing programs only accept women, or only accept parents with children (who are generally women). The same is true of many government and church programs to support the poor, at least in the US.

That's your problem. Talking to the same girl twice is often considered stalking.

I've always used foam. If you're at a club, I figure you won't be able to hear anyone anyway.

I haven't tried anything like that, but I would love to hear how they compare to foam earplugs.

Oh my god... What have I done :p Seriously though everyone, I genuinely didn't mean for this to turn into a gender thing. Sorry! You must be new around here... Basically, any thread in the L+D section turns into a gender thing. It's not all that surprising, since this is a site for people who, as a...

From my observations, dating does not seem to work well for anyone.

Most of my friends have either never dated, or married someone they met in high school. And I don't even live in a small town.

If he hits on literally every girl, it's probably an ingrained habit. Maybe he knows how to hit on people, but not what to do when they respond? In any case, it sounds like a confusing situation. I've even heard of people becoming attached to their identity as a reject, to the point that they're unw...

Find someone with a job? People with jobs don't have much time to be thinking about political issues. You clearly haven't haven't met some of my previous coworkers. This is what people mean they talk about political polarization. AFAIK, the only way to avoid it is to avoid places where politics are...

I have always been inspired by the timelessness and universality of physics. Absolute laws, impossible to break. Everything (known) in the universe follows them. Why does everything in the universe follow physics? I don't know, maybe a god made the universe that way. If it was a god, it certainly wa...

Oh, the horror!

Soon, there might even be black people in your bathroom! http://www.snopes.com/military/pentagonbathrooms.asp

I'm just waiting for someone to list crime statistics and argue we need to go back to segregated bathrooms.

Idk about that...recommending CBT doesn't always go over well around here.

I didn't read past the first paragraph anyway. Life's too short for that kind of novel-length 'help'.

To me the US has always been progressive, a decade ahead of the U.K. and twenty years ahead of Ireland or so. I wouldn't want this kind of cruddy attitude to leak it's way out and into other countries. Really? I thought it was the other way around. Or at least, I hope it is. I grew up in a conserva...
