I'm pretty fast on the response in chat rooms and I tend to chat with some people who have ADHD (and neither schizophrenia nor autism) who are quicker than I am. It was the first time in my life I was told I was a slow typist. That's pure anecdote, however, and means nothing in terms of big picture...

Does anyone know of any good "research article" websites/search engines? So far, I have http://www.springer.com/ . I'm not seeing anything on ADHD and response or reaction times, though. EDIT: It appears that http://www.scirus.com/ is a pretty snazzy research site. However, almost all of the researc...

According to a quoted text that I found at http://www.wrongplanet.net/postp4252020.html#4252020, In order to test the hypothesis that acute schizophrenia episodes have a negative impact on cognitive function, 35 consecutive non-abuse schizophrenia outpatients (age < 60) were enrolled in this study. ...

but response time slowing amounted to 3.5 SD Interesting. I wonder how they measured "response time"? I want to be tested! I get the feeling my response times might be a little on the slow side and the psych giving me the ADHD assessment even remarked on it, so this would be one quick and easy way ...

I'm affected by the emotions of others, but it always seemed like my expressiveness always had 1/5th the intensity of the average person's expressiveness so it might not seem like it. Also, yes, I cognitively process the emotions if the person is unfamiliar and it's not easy to figure out but my emo...

When I was younger, I preferred office like clothing with stripes or geometric patterns or simple, solid colors. I always thought the 'popular' clothing in the stores with fanciful, mythical or animal themes was pretty swag, but my parents never could afford it and I refuse to pay for it. Nowadays, ...

I went to the Autism Center for my autism screening and, coincidentally, they administered this test! I was kind of hoping it was going to be the ADOS, but oh well, at least now I can ask the proctor questions about whether or not I should answer true or not to certain questions. Anyway, after takin...

I'm visual thinker and I learned basic math many years ago, but I remember this. I imagined dots and I... oooh, I'm visual, so I have to draw it  http://img46.imageshack.us/img46/6638/wieichsehedas.jpg I saw blurred somethings in my mind, like on the picture. Later I could imagine the numbers....

Most people judge intelligence on social intelligence, mainly. By this, I mean effectively expressed empathy and social cognition (Meaning understanding people, their intentions, etc.) along with good verbal prowess. In real life, it's also associated with 'creativity' and how much you talk (I.e., ...

Referential ideation also. soooo... I'm pretty messed up. It might not be that bad. It sounds like you might be severely depressed with depersonalization and you're feeling fearful of your future, leading to feelings of paranoia. Even if you had schizophrenia, you're an awesome person and don't for...

The thing about people with autism being unimaginative and dull is a straight out lie caused by ignorance. No, it's actually true. When NT people talk with each other, they recall associated ideas and often make use of people in order to make an "interesting reply" (To NTs, anyways.) and Aspies don...
