I don't know. Someone would have to do research with aspies and compare our addiction rate to that of the normal population. I see addiction and ASD as two independent things.

I do a daily personal inventory. Part of it is asking myself, "What did I do good today?"

This counters the irrational guilt that comes with depression.

Relationship Casual sex is a much inferior option to me. I long for romantic love. My desire for sexual intercourse only gets aroused if I find someone who I can see myself getting into a committed relationship with. I have masturbation for when I get horny. Why risk STDs and uncomfortable emotions ...

I'm no Adonis but I've figured out that a lot of women find me attractive. When dealing with unwanted attention, I usually ignore it. If a woman is flirting with me, I don't flirt back unless I am interested in her. If the woman is particularly aggressive and I am not interested, there is always the...

Spanking is not abuse. Making fun of your kid, not feeding your kid, exploiting your kid, neglecting your kid, verbally assaulting your kid, burning your kid, biting your kid, punching your kid. These are abuse. They leave lasting scars. Spanking is punishment. I got spanked on occasion. It didn't h...

I feel like Spock. I even got a bunch of tattoos to symbolize my Vulcanness. I love their religion, which emphasizes logic over emotion. That's me all the way. I also long to be "human" and can sort of understand NTs but fall short. I think Spock is half Vulcan/half human so I identify wit...

To OP, you are not alone. I struggle to find services. I have other issues which I have gotten treatment for, but for autism-related problems I just struggle on my own IRL and come here. It is scary and frustrating. Many times in my life I have wanted to give up. I haven't because, like you, I felt ...

What does it mean to have self acceptance? I know you mean to say you should not care whether a woman is attracted to you, but I doubt that's all there is to it. Do you stop trying to dress up? There are certain social expectations and if you don't conform to those expectations you'll be treated as...

Pure Conservatism, OTOH, would leave the disabled to be looked after by their families, churches and communities, rather than Big Government, so you'd be free to be dependent on your relatives, or some charity, or get a job and make your own way - then you could make your own money to invest and st...

I think it is more complex than that. People who are abused not only become victims, they become perpetrators. If all you know about relationships is to be emotionally or physically abusive, that's all you are going to do. There is no choice in it. You don't know how to do anything different. I agre...

My advice might not apply because I am in a different situation than you, but here goes. My problem with dating (and friendship) was similar to yours. I didn't know how to just hang out and spend unstructured time with people. In regards to learning to just be around women, forming friendships with ...
