How? Having wealthy and supportive families helps; most of these so called "self made" millionaires were never poor! |

Having a comforable (and well earned) pension, I still don't undersand why some people want to buy things just because they are expensive. I'd splash out on anything I really wanted or needed, but my desires are modest, so I remain another unashamed cheapskate. Should I be impressed by those who wea... |

I know very little about Musk, but I'm certainly impressed by his acheivements, so I'd be inclined to give him a lot of lee way, should he display any oddities. One can't be both excepional and normal! |

Most trolls come under the Narcisstic Personality Disorder. They mostly disrupt things for fun, but sometimes they are paid to follow their urges, and appeared in their hundreds back on sites like Aspergia, whenever anyone tried to start a meaningfull debate on, amongst other things, the validity of... |

"25 years ago, autism, 1 in 10,000 children. Today it's 1 in 36 children. Is something wrong?" Of course it's wrong; Kanner's subjects in his famous paper, were evidently autistic, as the label was then understood, being one of those aspects of the psyche which determine our temperament an... |

Well, I suppose there should be a DSM 5 by now, but I doubt I'll get around to studying it. After much such of the DSM 4, I was forced to conclude that their methodology amounts mostly to: we don't know how to categorise this, so lets dump it with all the other unconected issues in the autism "... |

I can't see it'd make much difference, given how most of those who voted in Trump were middle aged. Is the concern that us oldies may dimininsh in mental health? Compared to the insanity of the majority who not only put him in once, they then made him president again! As Winston Churchill may have p... |

Yes, clothing can come in pretty handy in the cold. I actually have layered clothing that will allow me to move in temperatures close to -100 degrees F ( -73 degrees C) for a little while. Luckily, I do not normally have to use them. Well that beats me! I once skied ( a school trip) in minus 30C, a... |

From the Dilbert Principle: "a high IQ doesn't have much practical application". It certainly doesn't help you get on with other people! It may help you solve a lot of issues, but it doesn't help you to find the right questions... :D I have a framed copy of the February 3, 1992 Dilbert st... |

Dubbya thought that by looking in his eyes, he caught a glimpse of Putin's soul, but his ambasador only saw his eyes looking back at him! What is there to see, really? Sure the muscles around ones eyes can indicate warmth, laughter etc. but seeing into someone's soul is purely dillusional! |

Thermal tights and layered polyester jackets solve most of winter's challenges; they are invisible under my pants and parka, a case of wear and forget. |

Be careful with definitions and diagnoses here; there are certainly a host of dificulties now described as ASD, but to me, being Autistic is like winning life's lottery! It hasn't been easy, when having to deal with those stange NTs, but otherwise there is no one else I'd rather be. I'm not alone in... |

Midnight Sun, from the Twilight series; it's the oddest love story I've ever encountered, but it's easier reading than Dicken's Great Expectations, which I've shelved. |

Haveing reached 70, I've no friends, and I'm not sure if I count as socially skilled (though I get on well enough with most people) but on two occaisions recently, quite independantly, I've been described as charming! Nothing like it ever happend before, so it was quite anice,if bemusing, surprise! |
