My brother has been feeling very lonely when it comes to the opposite sex and I talked about it before in this previous thread from months ago: https://wrongplanet.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=334869 But I was thinking maybe it's time I try to help him get some dates. However, he doesn't act like the...

I got the most visible quirks in my profile, and i will mention some specific traits in chat when (if) we are planning to meet, the the traits might become a problem at the venture we are considering. The full disclosure? That can wait untill the 3rd date, or untill we get intimate; whichever happen...

Forum: General Autism Discussion   Topic: What is the difference between a savant & a genius?

A savant is extremely good in one specific thing (like painting portraits), while a genius in the same field has a little lower ceiling, but is good all-round in that field (painting in general, in this example).

The line is a bit blurry at times, but this is how i understand it

Forum: Computers, Math, Science, and Technology   Topic: what is the bare minimum for producing good music?

The keyboard doesn't really need to be quality, as you throw it trough software anyway. The headphones help a lot to determine how it will sound to listeners, but if you are producing for larger events, this is less relevant because nuance get removed by high volume anyway. The software, well, that ...

With Trias Politica, the government isn't supposed to have a stance on religion, not theism, not atheism (which is a rejection of dieties), nothing at all.
If any stance has to be applied to governments, it would have to be agnostisism (in the translation of "dunno, dun care")

Well, autism/aspergers does come with difficulties in social intelligence; humour (and determining apropriateness of jokes) is part of that, so yes, we are more prone to making inappropriate jokes

I think you have placed your bed in the draft of the airflow; having fresh air flow in your room is good for you, but is isn't supposed to go over you.

Is it possible to place your bed somewhere else in the room?

The balcony is part of the apartment; smoke can get in the other apartments trough windows like that.
The old lady was quite rude, true, but she was right, you shouldn't be smoking on the balcony either.

It isn't over yet. Trump is trying to go for "plan B", ignore the "replace" part of his promise and simply repeal obamacare, with no alternative. I'd say that he hopes that having no care plan at all will make the rest of the politicians more eager to support his ideas, but such ...

Well, repeating ad infinitum, or at least regular repeats ad nauseum are the exact ways to improve any skill, and artristry isn't an exception (rather, it's the prime example). If you really want to train yourself in this, don't expect much progress in a few months, skills like these can take years...

There is a reason why autism was known as "childhood schizophrenia" when the first diagnoses came in; the two have more than a little overlap in symptoms

Be clear about your own intentions; it is quite possible that he himself assumes that you friendzoned him.
In my own experience, this happened a few times, and in that situation the pressure is off (there is no romantic interest from her side, so i can't mess anything up there).

Don't put too much thought into it, especially not during the date.

Social anxiety is a form of fear of failure; if you don't mention the mistakes she made/makes, it should be ok on that regard
