Things I have been taught by the world. When I don't succeed its my fault no matter how hard I have tried to do what was asked of me. When I hurt, I should be condemned and punished harshly for how I express it, with no consideration given to why I have acted out as I have. Sum total being to say ; ... |

So who's got the biggest iq, sounds simple, just whip them out and measure them. Oh wait, IQ is an imaginary construct, the level of variance in scores by virtue of who administers the test demonstraites this pretty well, also demonstraites I can't spell demonstraites. The Raven matrices, may be an e... |

It seams like I always have the same fight with my partner, she says something that is deeply hurtful to me, I become offended and it is my fault for feeling offended by something that attacks me at the core of my being, the part that I do everything. I can to hide from the world. The best I can get... |

So during the set break I turned around and asked the person in the setat behind me if they felt like they were at the symphony or at a Dead/ JGB show(my s... |

Been in that place more than I would like to confess. All I can say is that 3 five year plans on I'm still here. (The 5 year plan: in short you stuck it out this long, if it's as bad in 5 years you can give yourself permission). |

@linatet, I think that you need to drop #2, as that is essentially the experience that I had going through my 1st 35 years without an explanation as to why. Taking pride in your differences comes after you have come to terms with them, and for those who haven't fully gotten to be ok in their own ski... |

Another way to describe this would be bottom up processing. Essentially rather than 1st seeing the forest and then the trees, it's first seeing the texture of the bark, and building up to the tree, and what type of tree, and how does it compare to other trees of this variety that I have known, and t... |

I have worn many masks over the years. What it is I show varies by whom and where I am interacting. Learning quickly enough which one to use can be a challenge. My favorite mask to where is to be myself, however most situations call for something other than being a madman and proud of it. And hey ni... |

Let me try and answer all three Yes of course you should ask, be well aware that 1:1 interaction is something we can generally do just fine, and wouldn't you be offended if your friends actively avoided you by not asking. On 2) and 3) I want you to imagine being a deer in the headlights of an oncomi... |

One could say that AS/ASD is to be born into a world that induces PTSD by default. PTSD is the result of an overwhelming experience. This results in the brain essentially switching over to survival mode. One becomes hyper vigilant, unable to let go and relax, develops perseverative thinking about pa... |

I remember the feeling. Nothing really changes, but suddenly everything has a reason. Kinda like getting to see a behind the Sceans look at your own past.

I work at a nonprofit that provides supports for people with MR and autism, I had hoped it would open a door. Instead I got a response that we thought you would do great running a group home, no wonder you failed. I do my best to attribute the comment to ignorance. Though it doesn't mean I have had ... |

sounds vaguely familiar, the first time I smoked a cigarette, I smoked half of a pack in a row. I would agree that it is a form of stimming, however, if you are not addicted to nicotine then an e-cigg that contained no nicotine would be able to replicate the experince. With the added benifit of bein... |
