My problem is my parents never gave me a chance at 16. They just assumed I would never drive or have a job since I was "autistic". We lived in towns were access to anything via foot was impossible. I was homeschooled and sheltered. Internet wasn't really a thing yet and my mom had to try w...

Tom Kenny is quoted as saying to an autistic fan, "Yes, SpongeBob is autistic. That's his superpower, just like it's yours's"

Looney Tunes was originally created with adults in mind. I was always told my Lion King special interest was "childish" and was like, "Huh, weird how all the people except the voice actors for cub Simba and Nala were adults isn't it?" I'm a furry but I don't think that's really c...

This makes me uncomfortable and I don't know why. Maybe because of Julia on Sesame Street, who was sponsored by Autism Shrieks. There's another kid's show supposedly coming to PBS made be the guy who made Arthur where the protagonist is autistic or there's an autistic character or something. https:...

Subtitles in real life. For people with me who can't understand their own first language because your brain decides it doesn't want to process language in that moment and all you hear is gibberish.

= I never really fit in with other fans of movies I liked unless it was a very obscure movie. Rocket Raccoon is my newest special interests. Nice, but it kinda sucks because people who know me in person think he's just a random raccoon and think I like raccoons in general now. But if someone hands m...

I've always been particular about my special interests. No, I never felt I purposely picked out my special interests, it was as if someone else picked them out for me. My main special interest is becoming a veterinarian, DVM, not technician/nurse. I wonder if this is what some of my older Christian ...

I lived in small towns my entire life and HATED it. Nothing to do, nowhere to go, VERY closed minded people. It's like the song "In my little town there's a rainbow but all of the colors are black. It's not that the colors aren't there, it's just imagination they lack"
