Go to a different doctor if you can. Even though this guy had a reputation of working with adult autism/aspergers, that doesn't mean he knows what he's doing or talking about. It just means other people think he does. The diagnostic criteria does not state that you don't or can't make friends/boyfri...

First of all, IQ tests are mostly BS. However, I have to correct the misinformation here. Average is 100 with a standard deviation of 15. So, 85 to 115 is the range of average. At 87 you are in the average range.

I think you're right to steer clear of her in the future. She is not being insensitive. She's being passive aggressive, i.e. socially acceptably hostile. She knows what she's doing and saying. Don't expose yourself to her poison anymore. You deserve support, not denial of who you are.

While there are many great things about discovering your Aspieness, there is also a process of stages you'll go through in adjusting your sense of identity. Don't be surprised if the process mirrors the stages of grief. You are losing a sense of yourself as it has been established over the years. Bu...

It happens. You like someone, but the chemistry (for whatever reason) is not there. Your questions are the answers you seek. Tell her what you wrote here. Honesty doesn't feel right when thinking about it ahead of time (usually because social convention says, spare the truth and you spare the feelin...

language

seeing patterns

direct communication (well, I don't know if that's a good thing or not)
loving people

It sounds like onset insomnia. I had this for years, starting in high school. My insomnia stopped when I got off caffeine. It took about 6 months for there to be an effect. A routine is also a good idea. If I stick to a routine, I can maintain the sleep and wake times that I need to be able to funct...

All lumps do NOT equal cancer. Please find comfort in that thought if you can. I had/have a lump in my right breast that is benign. Just densely fibrous. They did a needle biopsy (I had the option of a lump biopsy, but thought I'd start with the needle so I wouldn't lose tissue if it was benign). It...

Prepare for it as if it were a formal interview, but dress the way you would if you already worked there (maybe a little nicer).

I don't carry one, but I've seen this before. Seems like it would be a good thing to hand an officer with your license if you haven't shut down completely. A bracelet would be a good idea if you did shutdown as they are easily visible and officers should be trained to look for them. You could have t...
