| The E6750 is a Core 2 Duo chip that came out in 2007. The motherboard is average, towards the low end, but Gigabyte is a good brand. The 'sweet spot' pricewise for DDR RAM right now is speed 1600. The SSD is good and the HD is average nowadays. That graphics card is on the low end but will work well... |

| If you're selling it, you might actually get more if you parts it out. Some parts of the system are better than others, like the Patriot Pyro. I wouldn't buy the system, since most of the stuff is too outdated for me.. but someone might pay.. $200-300? The thing is, the SSD is worth more than virtua... |

| The extreme-est of the extreme Intel CPUs is not very economical, no :) But the i5s are much better. That said, yes, the AMD FX chips are plenty fast, and with Win 8 coming out, they will become a little faster due to MS fully supporting their unique multi-core architecture. Oh, I didn't think about the fact that older drivers wouldn't exist for Vista/7..
I'm sure you can find a cheap copy of XP Pro on ebay or somewhere. If you want to use both CPUs, check up on me and make sure I'm right about XP Pro using them both |

| Re: OpenOffice, development on that has stopped and now the same basic team is making LibreOffice and has continued making enhancements to it. It's possible that the problems you ran into with OpenOffice have been fixed. |
