First of all, it's not a good idea to play the comparison game with other people. The more you do that, the more you are going to end up feeling miserable. Second, most of those people who are seen on social media may look like they have it all together. When in reality, they might have bigger pictur... |

I would like to get married to a companion who gets me and accepts me for who I am. I would also like someone who I can love and appreciate as well. |

I went through that in my 20's as well and it was especially hard when a few of my friends were able to date and get married. Then meanwhile, I kept gettin... |

Hi:
It does not sound like you were rude. Rather, it sounds like you attempted to put the ball in his court by reaching out and doing the best that you could. |

I don't know is being autistic has anything to do with being able to relate to my current generation. However, I have noticed that people have been very short and inconsiderate of you. |

I lived through most of the 80's through the eyes of a young child and remember the 80's At age 4, I watched the Challenger explode and did not know what was going on until my parents explained it. Meanwhile, Regan was president for the first 7 years of my life. Back in those days, Michael Jackson w... |

Other pet peeves
1. People who expect me to be one of those friends who should spend every one of my waking hours giving them attention. They get very upset when I make them realize that I have my own life.
2. People who seem to have no concept of my boundaries and do what they feel like. |

A few of them 1. Whenever someone seems to play mind games by asking you a question. When you answer, that person says "No that's not my question." That one really pushes my buttons. Another thing they do is "That still does not tell me anything." 2. Whenever someone asks you fo... |

Until most recently, I had been attending a local autism group that was put on by two people who were supposed to be my friend. I felt like I was expected to bend over backwards for these people and their socials. Then when it came to inviting me to anything, they "Never had time." I even... |

A few others
1. When people assume what I can and cannot afford
2. When I find myself being upset and the other party dismisses me by trying to give things the benefit of the doubt in a condescending manner.
"Well maybe it's because of XYZ." |

2. When talk to me like I am clueless. |

I've been to a couple of places in which others on the autism spectrum meet, one was set up by the autistic trust uk and another had a mixture of other people with other conditions. Even though I went to them, I still felt like I didn't fit or want to be there, I felt like the only one who was mild... |

You have no idea how many times I have dealt with one-sided situations that it's not even funny. Hi Baby Bird: The one where I get discouraged a lot is driving a car and I am tired of it. I also have seemed to get the responses about being a receptionist. Yet, no one at work has seemed to care what I feel or what I really want. I want to be a psychologist and I want to teach. Yet, I have seen s... |
