Seriously of course I'm sorry about what happened. That said: Inappropriate humour (but hey, this is WP so what the hell): The suspect blamed Mr Beverly for being responsible for his negative job-performance situation . It evacuated some employees in the building when the situation occurred . With a...

I got an email from GRASP about this and saw the early, brief version on ABC News. Pretty good as far as it went. Corcoran and a 12-year-old boy they showed were an interesting contrast. Corcoran is handsome and thanks to understanding the AS and to therapy seems normal. Of course he's going to have...

That's sweet.

'Whatsoever you do for the least of my brethren' can apply to cats too.

Valentine's Day was easy to ignore this year - at least the people at work (who largely ignore me - you know the drill) didn't make a big deal of it. From a blog: 'If you're a person of either sex who doesn't have a "Valentine" and wish you did, the holiday rubs it in.' Every time I'd had a girlfrie...

I'm with the majority - hated P.E. my whole time in school. Now that I'm grown and understand AS I'd like some of it - went to a cool school at one point with a swimming pool. Maths tests are second. Beyond that, related to P.E. I hated normals' obsession with sport. Now that it's too late I see all...

From an article about dogs: 'Social parasites inject themselves into the social systems of other species and thrive there. Dogs are masters at that. They show a range of emotions—love, anxiety, curiosity—and thus trick us into thinking they possess the full range of human feelings.' I'm not saying w...

That was a good Wikipedia article. I think the problem says as much about the problems of Japanese culture, the pressure and the phoniness, as it does about the disorder these kids have. (Some may be Aspies reacting to having AS as well as to the culture.)

I love 'The Simpsons', 'Futurama' and 'King of the Hill' too, and 'Family Guy' when it's on top of its game. 'American Dad'? I watch it but meh. I liked 'Star Trek' and 'Star Trek: The Next Generation' as well but the first one mostly because some of the women were hot. Spock is one of the best char...

P.S. Cate Blanchett is smokin' in this one.

kayetes, I did something not exactly like that but similar - fight back for about the same reason - once when I was a teenager. Glad I wasn't forced to apologise. I did get the worst punishment of my school career (it happened at school) - a one-day suspension commuted to a week's detention (stay af...

NEVER go to the nationwide mechanics. Go to a local one, like I do. True! Now I know. I thought I'd pay a little more going to Aberdeen Sunoco but not get hosed as bad as I did by Cottman. Now I wait and trust my car to a marvellous older German-born mechanic in a hole-in-the-wall garage you wouldn...

Beyond typical spectrum stuff like unexpected changes and people moving my things out of order (not as bad now that I understand spectrum stuff but I still feel it) I'll say: • Web visitors who aren't really reading the page but only were looking for a picture on Google images. • Pouring my heart in...

Got some shower gel recently really cheap - it was Suave and I reckoned after I got home that it's for women. That's fine though - it doesn't really smell flowery or perfumey and after all Axe is only soap too but with a marketing campaign. (I do use Axe deodorant though - it smells good and works g...
