Hmmm, I dunno. I dunno how much of this forum's geographic matches the intent and purpose of this thread -- apparently the factors are being parents, being parents of autistic kids... Though, the section of this thread is technically appropriate for it I guess... Sure, it works out with autistics on...

People telling me that I'm overthinking makes my eyes roll. To me, me overthinking things is a sign of executive dysfunction, a reaction to whatever current deficiencies I cannot make up with -- it's not really me , just a damnable symptom of not being able to self regulate at those moments o...

I actually don't know. The usual shape? I might as well get a long shirt -- as long as it's not shoulderless -- and leggings that fit's the shirt's color scheme underneath it. Preferably plain. Patterns not as loud. No logos/characters/writing/etc. That's what my wardrobe is composed of; somet...

I've personally read too much fanfiction. And it's not exactly voluntary or conscious... It started during my worst years, burnt out from highschool after consuming more (canon) stories and "wanting more". Not as a skill to cultivate to aspire to nor because anyone likes it, but as a reall...

... Yet I also might be getting on a plane anytime soon. Family emergency.

Forum: General Autism Discussion   Topic: Do you have anxiety caused directly by autism?

No. Because anxiety is rarely my otherwise human reaction to my own living autistic experience. Not even the cognitive basis over uncertainty and unpredictability. Not even sensory issues; overwhelm by quantity, by intensity, pain or discomfort. Not even any implications that results from the two st...

I never understood any NTs. Only them as a human, not never as neurotypical. I too, took a closer observation on my family. They all have quirks. They all have flaws. So? But are those quirks socially and emotionally stood out hard enough, that their processes has little to no common with others at ...

I had never had ever counted calories. I'm just that one of those lucky bastards who can gorge themselves without putting much weight. And I'm also one of those lucky bastards who happened to enjoy walking for hours just for the heck of it. ... And I'm 29. Past mid-20s, people would typically ...

No (you damn body)... As much as I'm not letting melatonin dictate my sleep patterns, I'm not letting ghrelin dictate my dietary patterns either. So no, I don't want to get up and eat at 3am. I'm not done resting. The only bodily sensation I can comply immediately and within few hours apart t...

I've no idea. For health, past the typical 'eat healthy, sleep healthy', I suggest getting a blood work done than just the mirror and scales before deciding whether to lose or gain. Because to me, visible weight and figure doesn't necessarily determine someone's metabolism and how healthy they actua...

I'm getting my passport this month.

Cosmic cat eyes will appear and stare back at me.
Yes, I'm one of those special people who understands why the abyss stares back, how literal it actually is and this is it.

Describe the cosmic cat.

This really hit hard because at my recent appointment, my psychiatrist told me that getting a diagnosis wouldn't change anything and questioned the point of it all. she pointed out that I should accept and love myself without needing any diagnosis, and she dismissed it as something that wouldn’t im...

I kept sensing either other people's nightmares and fears or that there are waves of fear that it's affecting my thoughts and dreams. My reaction to fear is still annoyance, obviously and fight -- which does work. But I don't think it's an optimal one... Not with this one scenario. Really. Disturbin...

Really depends on the person's needs and their circumstances. Personally, I would need an official diagnosis within a narrow window of time. I don't think I'll survive past teenage years not knowing in this lifetime... And knowing too soon would drastically change my fate over who knows what.... Whi...
