Because it made people feel bad to see their comments get even one "Thumbs Down" vote.

That could be a reason too. But what about videos then? Also they could add them together so that 2 upvotes + 1 downvote = 1 vote

I think designers often tend to favor fewer graphical elements both because of the artistic aspects and simpler UI. It might also be that the comments aren't the main part of YouTube, and they want to draw attention more the to videos and not the comments. You have the same thing on StackExchangehan...

As of lately, I've been working a lot on a Mac ( developing iOS apps, so I really don't have a choice. ) I hate it. They keyboard is bad, the shortcuts are Apple specific, they touchpad is bad, Finder is horrible for finding files, and just about everything about the UI/UX is bad for a person who wa...

I agree with the other ones; people don't care.

Personally I tend to walk around with a huge headset, completely in my own world, completely ignoring everyone else. It's really nice :D

It seems like you generally have a good relationship with the guy you are working for now, it might be better to reverse the situation. As you have experience of others who perform the team leader role better in your opinion, mark the current guy up as 'could do better' and try to accept that he is...

Aslo, I remember from my previous job I had a project leader who was really nice. It's not that he had a special eye on me. Or that he always praised me or anything like that. But every once in a while he would tell me I did a good job. When I was working there, I was hired from a recruitment compan...

IMO. In the world of work there is very little reason to praise people for doing what they are supposed to. Produce something to a reasonable standard in a reasonable amount of time, your thanks is in your salary. Praise is due when someone goes above and beyond. I think you need to ask yourself if...

Maybe there are coding guidelines which you have to follow. A long while ago, I was a programmer. (I was not fired because of programming skills that would lack, but because of staying too separate from the team and lacking social skills). There were written coding guidelines and there were courses...

Unfortunately, managers usually share frustrations much more frequently than praise. Try not to take it personally, since it's a flaw of almost all management. When everything's good, they don't feel the need to say anything, but when something's wrong, they nit-pick it. Trying to use the comments ...

Do you know why the lead is removing or changing a lot of your code? Maybe you can ask him if there is a general problem with your code and what you should do to fix or avoid that problem. The feedback won't be positive, but perhaps you can learn some things, then feedback will be more positive on ...

Hello! I currently work at a software engineer, which means I spend my day writing code. I'm kinda the junior in the office. I have the least experience and thus feel I'm under everyone else. We have a development leader. He is generally a nice guy, funny and helpful when I ask him face to face. A p...

Have they not heard of adblock. I fail to see why someone would pay for no ads on youtube when adblock stops them? Let me guess the drm in html5 will make adblock fail i do not know will have to wait and see if it does. Well it is possible to detect Adblock and simply refuse people with Adblock to ...

Steam for me, definitely. I also have Desura though, but that launcher can be a little.... strange. But yeah, mostly Steam. I buy things very frequently on Steam and will also tend to attach non-Steam games to it (like Minecraft). Origin is... well.... I mean, it's freaking EA, so I dont use it muc...

A good alternative to Arch is Manjaro. It's based on Arch, but they've made installing and setting things a lot easier. You don't really have to be a pro Linux user to use it.

He did the same with Neil Young and Rockin' in the Free World. And, as far as I know, Neil Young owns the rights to his own music. And he certainly didin't agree to let Donal Trump use it. So unless I'm wrong about Neil Young owning the rights, he cleraly broke the law.
