I think it's embarrassing that weed is more legal in certain US states now than it is here. WE used to set the bar for liberal marijuana laws (or at least enforcement), now Harper's "tough on crime" BS is impeding progress. Why the f**k do they call themselves "Progressive Conservatives"? That's a ...

Can you distinguish between what is yours and what is not yours? Do you think it is o.k. to take money and resources by force or threat of force? If the only difference between what is mine and what is yours is a social convention, then would you really object if I picked your pocket or hacked your...

Might I add: Scandanavians with epicanthic folds are usually finnish or Saami(at they very least, such features are indicative of said ancestry), who are of uralic origin and descended from the original inhabitants of Scandanavia(ohne Denmark). Before those germanic tribes invaded, the people of sc...

The US has certainly charged foreign nationals with espionage. They couldnt get him for treason but they might try espionage. I don't know if they will. Assange seems to think they will. If they can make it stick, I'd like him sitting in a cell with Manning. He actually hasn't done anything differe...

Assange should get ready for a long stay in that embassy.

He will not be there long. He will be in the US within the year, if he is lucky. If he is not, he'll be somewhere in Eastern Europe or the Middle East.

In the name of your freedom you can kill someone who is trying to deprive you of your freedom by force. It is simple self defense. ruveyn The law, however, might not take so large and liberal an interpretation of the words, "self defence." particularly if the law is written and enforced by freedom ...

There is certainly nothing new about embassies taking in fugitives or refugees from the host country. Britain itself has done so, on numerous occasions. Name two. John William tried to take refuge in the British Embassy in 1726, but he was arrested by the Spanish authorities, within the Embassy. I ...

I'm sensing residual brain cells rattling around in a weak, empty mind, making some sort of squeeky sound that means nothing.

I would stick with hard SF if I were you. If it's not hard SF you'll likely be put off; most of the stuff that isn't hard SF is basically just fantasy in a different setting.

Really, you’re giving me too much credit. Are you denying you proposed a military coup against elected representatives in the capitol (Washington)? It's right there in black and white, I'm afraid. Cheap rhetorical tricks notwithstanding. I am sure you weren't saying the military should go to Washin...

As long as the American people are fighting amongst themselves, they are not challenging the corrupt establishment. Yes but it's a very dangerous game that's being played, inciting polarization. This has happened before, in Europe. They pick everyone's pocket while this is going on and then run off...

There is no such thing as race, because all classifications of it are strictly arbitrary. What do you do with the grey areas where traits converge? Where is the dividing line between Europeans and Asians? And what do you do when some portions of each population have traits associated with the other...

I think it must be harder for women. Emotional expression is one of the main impairments and there is more expectation of emotional expression from women.

I also seem to absorb information better when I'm what NTs would call "bored" ... they'd be better off telling me things in a dull, detached sounding way. I get too distracted and nervous otherwise. Yeah, cuts down on the processing. I'm the same. I have an easy time absorbing information from sour...
