Alright, I should clarify. When I say military, I'm referring to a technician or even officer position. In Canada they aren't even hiring infantry right now.

When I say nobody, I mean people outside my family. My mother refuses to even speak to me, and my siblings are all younger than me, they shouldn't have to concern themselves with this. My father listens, but he never told me one way or another what to do. As for friends, I have quite a few, and yet,...

This thread has a long story to it... If you want the very short, sweet version, scroll to the bottom. You see, over the last year, my parents have been going through one of the most dramatic breakups in history. My mother is bipolar and refuses to admit it, therefore we've been having weeks of peac...

Yes!! Often when I'm going up the stairs in my home I believe I have to go fast, jumping 2 or more stairs at a time. If I don't reach the top in a sufficiently short time, I get this feeling something terrible will happen to my mother. Yes, I do have OCD as well.

I do not want to come off as being ignorant or uncaring but... this is how the world works. Nobody in the history of mankind, or even in fiction, has been able to completely stop injustice, ignorance, and prejudice. Moreover, any attempts at stopping injustice get mangled in politics. Is abortion in...

In 99.9% of cases in which a person is socially awkward, and yet, incredibly smart, they are autistic. Moreover, autism has been related to psychopathy and sociopathy, although it does not imply that even a significant percent of autistics have it. Nevertheless, I believe without a doubt Adam Lanza ...

Personally if I considered him a real friend, I would have given him and his date a ride for free, just because it's the nice thing to do, even if I weren't going. That said, it's not worth dwelling over 25 years in the future. I can barely remember what I had for breakfast, much less what I did whe...

I would be willing to bet money your brother has Asperger's Syndrome. You're smart to have caught onto it, most people think of autism as being a "dumb" disorder. And those who think of Asperger's Syndrome gravitate more toward an image of Sheldon Cooper than your brother. He's not just socially awk...

In my opinion both sites are correct. 4Chan is right that Reddit is nothing but a hive-mind jerk-fest of Atheism and Liberatarians interspersed with fun images and the odd intellectual conversation. Then again, Reddit users seem to be correct by stating that 4Chan spawns nothing but trolls and shock...

First, 19 is too young to adopt a child. Think about that in your late twenties if at all. Second, you're college age, plenty of people are still going through their first relationships by college. Life isn't over, you're still young and date-able for at least another 10 years. Third, half of findin...

Thanks guys. I just assumed there was some odd medical reason for it - now I feel a little bit special that I'm good at adapting. To be fair, the structure of the military is half of why I stick around. Although, I'm not looking forward to the real world now! :)

My parents always assumed I had autism since I was four. When I was nine I got diagnosed. As a child I did not like exercise, going outside, or being with kids (I was very socially awkward). I had all the conditions of AS, etc, etc. This lasted until about middle school at 12 years of age. ..Then I ...

His secret is lots and lots of studying, and a passion for astrophysics. Having Asperger's Syndrome does not make you a genius, it gives you an obsessive passion. His is astrophysics, for other people it's computer science, or architecture, or sometimes specific things like rug making, molecular str...

I met more people in high school. In middle school they herd you like cows, you can only interact with people in your class most of the day. Plus, there were no extracurricular activities except sports. In high school, there are extracurricular activities galore, teachers treat you more like people ...
