Some games are worse than others in terms of manipulating players to spend money. Some are built around it, others aren't. Most games are somewhere in between. It's hard to know what to recommend without knowing your gaming preferences.

Harris as an American Cleopatra? Finally, I will see the realization of my Xi Jinping × Kamala Harris × Kim Jong Un love triangle! Honestly Harris would be a deeply ineffective and unpopular president. The right is going to hate her almost no matter what she does, and she won't be much more popular ...

It feels like every time I turn around we've lost another rock icon. It was just a few years ago I saw Graham Nash in concert. Wonder how much longer he has.

Ironically it's the hipsters and trendies who complain about capitalism while enjoying the fruits of sweatshops. I never much understood this fixation on this tiny segment of self-described socialists. Why fixate on people who are only into socialism because it is trendy? It's low-hanging fruit. Wh...

As has been touched on before, it comes down to several factors. Stagnation of wages even while worker productivity and corporate profits have increased, the decline of unions, the Race to the Bottom, outsourcing of "unskilled" labor overseas, the overt entanglement of corporations and the...

Brasil is like the US. It has heavily segregated neighborhoods and states. There are states where PoC don't travel due to risk of lynching. Any wonder there's a support base for Bolsanaro. An unfortunate legacy of slavery in both countries, me thinks. In more ways than one. Many Confederados, laveh...

Difficult to say and depends on how one defines God. If one defines God as an omniscient being, then I could see a few lines of reasoning: 1. God is all-knowing and therefore all-sensing and all-aware. Sentience as we experience it is an imperfect approximation of the sentience of an omniscient God ...

It is built on the premise that Palestinian Jews deserve more rights than Palestinian Muslims and Christians. It is built primarily by European Jews forcing non-Jewish Palestinians from their ...

All they have to do to stop most people from driving is to raise gas prices where only the very wealthy can afford to drive. For the rest of us it will be shanks mare. Tone in music means specifically the frequency of a given sound represented in Hertz. More generally, tone can refer to the sound itself, eg: "This piano has a beautiful tone." Tone in talking has more to do with intonation . That is: how those different audio frequencies are used in speec...

A working class without unions is just a mob of self-interested drones waiting to be divided and conquered. "Unions can become corrupt". Any institution can become corrupt. Any institution, anywhere. To me this is like saying that we shouldn't have democracy because democracies can and hav...
