Hearing and processing are two different things. Did you have an audiologist who told you you had audio processing disorder? Please explain! I was diagnosed with Central Auditory Processing Deficit by an audiologist. She also used ICD code H93.299, which stands for "abnormal auditory perceptio...

Why would it?

I don't understand why you would ask this given that I posted three possible reasons why it would be tiring in the OP.

Yes, it's called sensory overload.

If it's something that happens after a long period of stress, and you become unable to function as you previously functioned (like go to work or school, clean your home, or handle relationships) it might be a burnout.

Because of the social/communication deficits I guess. Maybe someone would not pick up on how much attention the other person wants. Maybe someone responds only when asked a direct question. Or maybe someone doesn't have the executive functioning skills to balance multiple emails and texts with other...

Prayer has a very specific religious purpose, so people talking about it as if it's just distraction or another form of meditation are being ridiculous. Yes, it can serve similar purposes to meditation or distraction, but those are not it's primary purposes: It is primarily a religious ritual. Someo...

Wow, first time reading this thread. People calling an accusation of racism something as bad as actual racism is BS. Actual racism destroys people's lives and is much worse than just getting your feelings hurt over an internet discussion. A racism accusation on this little corner of the Internet isn...

I couldn't tell if they were being sincere - maybe they were just "being Japanese" about it, as I derisively call fake-agreeing responses  )

I suggest you not say that sort of thing unless you want to be considered a racist.

No, that's not what I'm asking for. I mean no text, completely empty gender field.

When there's a lot of dialogue in novels, reading it fatigues me. I sometimes get confused about who is talking, so I have to do more processing and sometimes re-read to keep track. Also I feel like my eyes have to jump from line to line on the page because the lines of dialogue are often shorter th...

Prayer is an inconsiderate thing to suggest because not everyone is religious. Also the OP clearly said the problem is sensory; prayer doesn't fix sensory issues.

Neurodivergence is so broad that giving a specific answer to this question is impossible. Autistic, ADHD, and other conditions have different characteristics, which lead to different kinds of skills. And there will be different skills among autistic people because autism is defined so heterogeneously.

I don't know why it's difficult for you, but it's difficult for me because I tend to see every task as multiple smaller tasks. For example, instead of "pick paper up the off floor," I see my dirty floor and think "pick up this flyer, then pick up that torn envelope, then pick up that ...

I have a lot of sensory issues at bedtime too. To manage them, I created a routine that I follow every night, and I bought the things I needed to make me comfortable. It's best to create the routine during the day, when you are not tired and sleepy. Write down the steps if you need to. Here are some...

There are no general benefits of hiring neurodivergent people. There are benefits of hiring some individual neurodivergent people, for the same reasons that hiring individual non-neurodivergent people is beneficial: they're great at the job, they are loyal to the company, they get along well with co...
