What would you do if you knew that you were dangerous. You knew it was just time before you flipped out? I've asked to be locked up in a mental hospital and never let out and I'm out. They don't understand. I know that I am not right I'm the head. Even on medication the thoughts do not stop. It's ju...

I do the same thing. When I actually verbalize what I'm thinking, I can get some weird looks.

I think you guys are being abit overly unrealistic. Just because the average person don't understand AS, don't mean folk don't get it. Plenty of folk get it, there just not gonna be in your face about it all the time. I don't think I am being overly unrealistic. My family gets my needs and wants co...

Even though I do not suppress all my AS traits and behaviors, I don'y think anyone will ever understand me and accept me for who I am. I find it very frustrating and depressing.

My world would be awesome if the conversations in my head came out exactly like the ones I've rehearsed. Blah!

I don't think I did anything considered "wrong" as in cursing at the nurse or being a terrible patient. I was having a mini-meltdown and honestly don't know how suppress them. I just don't remember any of it because of the anesthesia. When I was able to kids of wake up from the medicine I thought I ...

1) If you do something really strange do you explain to yourself that it's just a "aspie thing" so you can blame the certain behavior or compulsive tendencies on AS? I think that now that I'm diagnosed it's easier for me to blame bad behavior or my weirdness on AS and use it as an 'excuse' of sorts....

Selfish? Yes. I want people to accommodate my needs because some of my needs are exactly that, NEEDS. Manipulative? I can be. I feel really guilty if I lie or deceive anyone though. Then it "eats" me up inside until I stop manipulating or tell the truth.

Pretty simple, what would you do to help people on the spectrum if you had infinite resources and the ability to help?

I would make eye contact more of an option and have it socially acceptable to not have to introduce yourself.

Sometimes when I'm talking to someone I have something I want to say but I can't make myself say the words. It's like I'm screaming it in my head but my lips won't move. I sometimes think that if I stare at them they will somehow know what I want to say and it will all be better. Never happens thoug...

I was just curious because I have always worn shoes around the house because I can't stand bits of dirt on my feet. The past couple of weeks I've noticed that it doesn't bother me as much. Do things like that ever change for you?

Mine are:
Telling my cat "you're just a little bitty kitty"
Singing to my dog "super de looper, super de Trooper"
Saying out loud something to the effect of " bompbomp bom bompbomp be domp"

Hmm. This makes me sound weirder than I first thought. Oh well.

I went to a new psychiatrist asking for conformation on a current diagnosis. I told him I wasn't comfortable with what I have been labeled and needed a new perspective. During the hour long conversation he asked me what I thought it should be and I told him that I suspected Asperger's and was not su...
