I came to this forum initially trying to figure out how my daughter was processing information because I have concerns. The more I am around here, the more traits I see in myself as having HFA or Asp. My career allows me to basically follow intricate wiring diagrams and deengineer cars with hard to ...

I'm sorry for the double post, it got sent from my mobile and I don't know how to delete it. As I learn more about what autism is, it makes me think less and less that she has it. Zette, I had already seen those videos during my countless hours of research. Thank you for posting the link. Part of me...

I haven't posted responses because I've been trying to take the advice of not analyzing her and just looking at the beautiful little girl as a whole person. That being said, quirky and all shes an amazing little girl. Thanks to everyone who has contributed!

Is there anything that is causing significant problems for your daughter at home or at school, or making life difficult for you and your wife to accommodate her? I have a friend whose son has many AS characteristics (very rule oriented, had a special interest, quirky interests, loves lists, advance...

Trust me I'm not basing her diagnosis off these posts. There are just do many websites that contradict each other that it gets kind of confusing when you start reading. I'm simply sharing the things that I see, and trying to decipher what is important and what is not. I appreciate everyone who has ...

I'm aware that people don't - in that instance, I was responding directly to Wreck-Gar's statement "This is a public forum, anyone can post, and people who choose to participate should understand this. " and later "I was not aware that this forum was censored or that there was any particular criter...

To many posters on this thread, and other "do you think this is autism" type threads: Even if the OP is asking you directly, I would caution you strongly against making diagnostic statements based on a single post in a public forum. First of all, you don't have enough information. Second, you are n...

The pretend play is something that I thought was a great sign to, but then I read about imitative play being different? This confused me a lot. If she tells me she took a rocket ship to the moon with a dinosaur and had a bubble guppy as a pet. She obviously had seen that somewhere on TV in order to...

This doesn't sound anything like autism to me. Autism is a social/communication disorder. I was under the impression it was a bit more than that. Though I cannot say much the OP said really stuck out as related to autism nessisarily...except the picky eating could involve some sensory issue. Fair e...

To me, the fact that she can pick up on the emotions of others fairly easily is a strike against autism. Then again, I also wonder if you have ever been tested yourself to see if you might be on the spectrum? The fact that you can't seem to let this go and are obsessing over it makes me wonder if y...

Hey all, this is my second topic here. I've been away for awhile because I wanted to let my just turned 3yr old develop and sit back and watch and appreciate her. If she never developed a shudder at 1.5 yrs, I never would have thought she was anything but NT. Every time she does something that remin...

I'd like to start by saying thank you to everyone here who responded, and even those who took the time to read my concerns without responding. I feel a bit more at peace, yet a bit more confused at the same time. Being the fact that I'm unsure if she has a form of autism or sensory processing disord...

Wow, this subject really reminds me of what my little girl does (almost 3). I remeber somewhere around her second birthday we were driving in the car (wife, daughter, and I), and I put my hand on the back of my wifes seat. From the back seat I hear "Daddy, don't put your hand on mommas seat". I was ...

Hi all, I'm new here, and not even sure if I belong. My head is kind of a mess, so please pardon anything I say wrong. I know Autism is a touchy subject, especially with parents. I am not sure if I belong here, this is why I need some help from you as a commnity. This will probably be to long winded...
