It became such an identity for me. But I am far too emotionally and socially aware, and have always been empathetic as a child...I talked to a psychiatrist, and he said trauma for a sensitive person makes a lot more sense and can look a lot like autistic symptoms, since I shut down after experiencin...

The Accountant Trailer: Ben Affleck is an Expert at Math & Killing Criticism will almost certainly arise from the possibility that the film could end up being another well-intentioned but overly simplistic presentation of autism as a kind of “super power” (complete with shots showing Affleck’s ...

Ironic really that the woman driving that vengeful hate speech over there is urging her members to come here and use the report button maliciously to try to get the mods here to ban a genuine WP member, as revenge for her own banning from here for breaking WP rules in a very unpleasant fashion. Wai...

It's true they could not have known better at the time, but maybe the whole point is so that they would know better; they had to make that one bad choice out of ignorance so that in the future they would have the knowledge to choose. So it was a necessary evil so that free will could come into exist...

Interesting...looks like the original article has been taken down from public viewing.

My guess would be she got tired of the negative attention. Her "heartless aspergers" site is still running though.

What is that?

I'm not quite bipolar, but I'm probably near the border of it.

I know that people's voices change pitch based on social setting, but I feel like mine changes really profoundly. Or maybe I'm just more conscious of it because it's my own, and I'm analyzing it more. I feel like most of the time my voice tends to be higher pitched - because most of the time I am ta...

I go from one extreme to the other, depending on how depressed I am.

When I'm moderately depressed, I eat a lot. When I get extremely depressed, I stop eating.

I really don't get it. Maybe I'm wrong, maybe some people find them useful who have experienced trauma. But I feel like when people use them, it seems way over the top. You can just make clear what the article is about in the headline or the beginning of the article, and if someone doesn't feel comf...

I'm an experienced psychonaut. I've tried LSD, Mescaline, DMT, Salvia and a whole bunch of other psychedelics. I see psychedelics as an extention of my Autistic self and consider a single average dosage LSD experience a perfect way to find inner piece during periods of great anxiety and/or stress. ...

I thought the movie was entertaining and had some really cool parts, but was not blown away by it. Here's where I agree with you and some other criticisms: 1) It has the same plot as a New Hope. Starts on a desert planet with a droid with a map to a giant planet destroying weapon, kylo ren kills han...

I'm sure killers like Adam Lanza did experience bullying and trauma growing up. But many people do who do not become consumed with rage and violence, and in fact grow from their experiences to become more compassionate and sensitive toward others. I believe that the few who do snap, who do become ps...

^^^can you tell me how one gets sensory deprivation outside of a tank? Cut ping pong balls in half, and place over eyes to create a blank white field. Put on some radio static or white noise and lay down. It's not as complete as a sensory deprivation tank, but it deprives at least two senses. The a...

You can actually intentionally trigger auditory and visual "hallucinations" (not sure exactly when something is classified as hallucination), using sensory deprivation. It's called the Ganzfeld Effect. I've done it myself and it's pretty cool - relaxing too. http://www.instructables.com/id...
