Random Access Memories by Daft Punk so far has been delightful.

Oddly mellow, catchy, mature, with many throwbacks and influences, that grows more enjoyable the more you listen to it.

Epic Fantasy.

Specific genre can be hard to pin down however, as it draws influences from many other sources. Drama, Horror, Myth, Mystery...

However, the fact that it is set in a (roughly) Medieval fantasy world means it falls into the Fantasy genre by default.

What you are describing is a common phenomenon in fiction writing. It's one that is often sought out, as it can lead to realistic and authentic characters. Embrace it fully, and love it. Eventually you'll reach the state when it's not just character's words, but actions, events, and the flow of the ...

Hello SakiHeart, Like you, I am a writer, and, also like you, my genre of choice is fantasy. I am currently working on my first novel, after a long development of world-building. My favorite genre to read is also fantasy, although good dramatic pieces such as thrillers can get me quite interested as...

To be honest, I think the song the OP quoted is either terribly translated, or terribly written. But to give it the old college try: The first few verses seem to be the singer saying they're not as strong as one may thing. It then goes on to a nonsensical verse, that I think is trying to express the...

I look forward to lurking about this topic. Storytelling has always been my passion, and I love discussing the craft. I practice mainly at being a novelist, and much of my focus is on longer stories and large character arcs. My general tips for such are thus: 1. Have an outline. A general idea, or a...

You have a story in there all right. You might be surprised what the story is though. What you have described so far is a good setup for a conflict, but it lacks in any planned resolution or ending. Now, with what you outlined, Rick has two problems: 1. He is bullied, (disrespected) 2. He is poor at...

Just write. Keep writing, even through the tough bits, even when you don't feel like it. The more you write, the more likely you will reach this state, and stay in it. I know I am getting to the point where after writing a few hundred words, it hits me almost every time. Keep writing, and don't forc...

You can’t blame the media entirely. Keep in mind the term ‘popular media,’ and focus on the word ‘popular.’ The media wouldn’t be successful selling these views if it wasn’t what people wanted. It is a mercurial, shifting realm that goes with trends. The popular trends right now focus on the ‘assets...

I shall add to the previous poster. I currently work sales, and it's both awful for us, and great for us. Let me explain. Retail sales is actually useful for learning a few social skills and boost self-confidence. I've been doing it four years and am a lot better then I was when I started. The previ...

Hello, Just joined, spotted this little thread and am announcing my intention to lurk and post, because just jumping in otherwise would be rude and uncouth. I am a diagnosed 'aspie,' (I'm new, using the word is odd to me,) and one of my greatest lifelong passions has been medieval times, as such I h...

Hello, just signed up after staying up late digging around the forums here, utterly astounded at the fact that I had not discovered such an amazing resource, and could not wait to contribute. I have not realized until I lurked in the forums this evening how wonderful it is to hear from people who ha...
