I struggle with something similar. It is like I'm trying to numb my mind, but it also later becomes a habit that is hard to kick

I'm 37 but this is something I still run into weekly in the workplace. 1. I file an issue report and it turns out to be a particularly difficult issue to solve. 2. People start to try to fix it, and in some cases having entire meetings about the issue 3. I approach an individual or a group because I...

Kung fu is a good tip as well, I did some Wing Chun when I was younger. I was an EMT and the smallest woman on the squad. Just doing the kung fu in my spare time changed my posture, my attitude, self-awareness. Wing Chun is what me and my kids are doing. It is not the only one that is good, of cour...

I have some kids that are doing Kung Fu with me and I think it really helps (if you can get into a system where you can learn and be able to make it applicable, in a short time... not all martial arts or martial arts schools are that way) However my 11 year old (Aspie) doesnt like it, and has an ave...

With me, we had 2 children diagnosed as AS and one as PDD(nos). What happened is the more I learned the more I saw that every single reason they were citing for diagnosing my kids was something that was present in me as well -- either currently or when I was younger. Anything that I have "grown out ...

I think that is part of being an introvert. For introverts, even if we are not shy, social interactions drain us. For extroverts it is more like social interactions do the opposite for them.

Don't forget the fact that many of us were trying to figure out what was wrong with us as far back as 4 to 6 years old. I remember being 6 and being introduced to someone with Down Syndrome. I remember doing a serious evaluation of myself to see if that was what why I felt so different from everybod...

I need to reiterate again -- hallucinations on the border between sleep and being awake are more common than you might think and are NOT a sign of schizophrenia. They could be a sign of narcolepsy though. http://neurocritic.blogspot.com/2013/12/when-waking-up-becomes-nightmare.html http://www.wisege...

What I find is most people, including friends, seem to take it wrong one way or another. Some will say, "so basically you are saying that you have insurmountable problems. I disagree with that." What? Insurmountable? Where did you pull that out of? Others will say "I wish you understood that everybo...

I don't know if you have Sleep Paralysis or not but most people who suffer from it (look it up!) feel like there is something horribly evil in the room at night with them. Also look up hypnogogic and hypnopompic hallucinations. You aren't crazy, you just have issues with what is happening with your ...

Yes. Exactly as you described.

If someone puts their hand on my shoulder it also feels patronizing.

Now what i do is I circle my hand up and around to push their hand off my shoulder. I suppose that could cause more trouble than it is worth but for the time being that is what I do.

If you are trying to break the ice or if they ask you to tell them about yourself, mention where you are from and what your major hobbies are. (unless it is a hobby that doesn't usually elicit a good response among NT extroverted types., like if it were Pokemon or something like that, you might want...
