So here is the problem that I have ALL THE TIME. This is one of the reasons that I hate people. I actually have a unique blend of disabilities that is extremely rare and incredibly severe. So, I end up having a lot of issues because of this. I know exactly what my issues are, and I know exactly how ... |

What is your conclusion on how to deal with masking? Should we do it or not? It's so frustrating sometimes when my closest friends and loved ones say "Please don't mask, just be yourself." They really insist. And then when I finally oblige, they immediately get offended by my autistic beh... |

I get accused of microaggressions all the time. I also get reprimanded and punished a lot for other people's assumptions of what they think I am saying or doing even though they are completely wrong in their assumptions |

I am struggling with an issue that some of you might be able to relate to. When I am completely overwhelmed, one of the first things to go is my ability to speak and to understand abstract verbal speech. To give you an example of a situation, today, I was trying to leave ski practice. I was complete... |

How do they explain all the Autistic people who were never ultrasounded like those who lived and died before Ultrasound was invented or those who don't have access to ultrasound? |

She said that the reason that me using the word "teach" in that context when I am talking to neurotypicals is offensive is because it implies that I know something about the topic and that they don't know anything about it. And that is offensive and condescending to them because it implie... |

So, here's a new one. I was talking to an nt about myself and about how my Autism affects me, and she got offended. I told her that I wasn't trying to offend her but that I was trying to teach her this. She then told me that my choosing to use the word "teach" in this context was condescen... |

Helping people break down problems is very easy for me and I do it naturally. I know a lot of Autistic people who are the same way. We should be careful not to generalize by saying something like Autistic people aren't as able to break down a problem to help people understand it as easily as nts can... |

Just for fun, let's invert the question: "Can You Understand A Person On The Spectrum As A Poet?" I don't understand what you mean by that. But I have written magnificent poetry and many other Autistic people have as well. Perhaps a slight rearrangement would help? "Can You As A Poet... |

I think you hurt her ego, so she reacted that way. Maybe "having an ego" should be part of DSM-6 (diagnostic manual) :D But your response was understandable. A lawyer who deals with disabled people should be more sensitive anyway. She has to learn. And it's often hard to be stoic (more or... |

The first and last time I did jury duty, my biggest problem was that I had a hard time controlling my laughter because the case was so stupid and ridiculous. A rich white lady was driving her car with her poodle in it and noticed a tick crawling up her leg so she stopped where and when she should no... |
