Being extremely understanding and empathetic.

Wait, I'm on the spectrum so I'm not supposed to have a skill like that.

So in that case, I have no savant skills.
LOL!!

It's possible. I am married but we live separately because of my extreme sensitivities. I literally cannot live with someone else. I have been living alone for almost ten years now.

Head Start is a great program. I remember when they first started it.

I would probably dislike a cannibalistic tribe that might cook me up for dinner.

Do you know that's the reason though? I happen to think that people just enjoy to discriminate against people who are different and this needs addressing. I won't allow someone (especially in the workplace) to behave differently towards me because I'm different. Unless you're proactive in educating...

These days, kids learn to write their names in preschool.
With some of these kids, it makes you think they are mastering calculus and English lit in the womb.

Isnt that when youre supposed to learn to write? In first grade when youre six? That how it was in my day, if I remember right. Usually it's just a bit younger than six. But six is not considered too old to be learning to write. But learning to write starts in kindergarten. They expect kids to know...

Some people think that everyone with severe autism is intellectually disabled and that having Asperger's means you're smarter than average (but just "book smart"). This is untrue. IQ is not part of the autism diagnosis. "Low functioning autism" is autism with associated intellec...

I find life with autism so bloody confusing. I know lots of people and they hate me, even though I'm always nice. Why is that? They look at me like I'm diseased and want nothing to do me. Even my own dad hates me. My mum is gone, I miss her so much, she was the only person who understood me. No one...

You sound like an amazing mom. Thank you. My (ASD) mom never told me what was going on with her so I didn't know when I would get calm-caring mom or vicious-angry mom (more of the latter). With my kids I will give them clues: I'm very agitated right now (don't poke)... I'm having a rare moment of r...

If the person doesn’t know he/she disrespected you, that person will never know you were offended. Therefore, that person won’t change his/her behavior, and will continue to offend you while the person is oblivious to the offense. It’s like when my wife gets mad at me for something. I’ll ask why. S...

What's more common in my finding is the facial feature ratio . It has held true for every single Aspie I am aware of . The edge of the mouth and centre of pupils align exact . Compared to Neuro typical who tend not to have this ratio . I think this indicates generally a wider mouth shape .. but not...
