I was curious to find out about those of you who have children in real life, and if yes, how good or bad of a parent have you been to them and did your autism of any type had any effect on your ability to be a parent. Basically, as a parent, did you do your responsibilities normally and give your c...

Being fat is a popular problem, but in people with any type of autism it could be even a bigger problem sometimes. Since we tend to have less friends, have less social skills, and tend to suffer from shyness, social isolation, and so on, we also might have a tendency to spend time at home more than...

I had a Magnesium Sulfate IV drip to stop preterm labour. ^ Epsom Salt is Mg? Wow I didn't know that. My methyl-B6 is 33.3 mg but I'm allowed to take three per day so that makes sense. I don't remember to take it every day anyway. Epsom salt is great source of Mg. And you can do it orally or bathe ...

Dengashinobi, That is great!! I am so happy for you! Unfortunately, those supps didn't work for me in that way, but I am thrilled that they are helping you. I do take magnesium and Bvitamins regularly though because they do help me be healthy in other ways. But I am really happy for you.

I can't recognize people who would take advantage of me or hurt me or bully me unless it is excessively blatantly obvious. So I get victimized a lot. I don't seem to be able to get much better at recognizing these people no matter how often this happens to me.

And did they help? Are you thankful for them, or did they cause harm? Asking because I got into a discussion on another forum and it made me wonder what the broad opinion on childhood "autism intervention" is by those who went through it. My understanding is that ABA is generally looked d...

It was similar for me. When I was being Autistic, I was punished for misbehaving. When I was locked away in my room by myself and not socializing at all with anyone for ridiculous amounts of time or when I was walking around the table for hours on end listening to the same LP for hours and hours and...

Second update: After I complained that the doctor sending me to someone else was total bs, and asked them to give her the message to never speak to me about this particular issue again, she wrote me a message and said that she would be glad to reevaluate my shoulder and write me the letter once she ...

The other problem is many medical places and hospitals have huge glass windows. Walls and walls of windows and skylights and "natural sunlight!" which they think everyone loves. I can't go in those places. Oh no, my identical twin and I have a difference! LOL! I LOVE natural light and it ...

The new research found a large racial gap in profound autism. Among Black children with autism, 37% had profound autism. The same was true for about one-third of Hispanic kids with autism and about one-fifth of white children with autism. I found this paragraph intriguing. Might there be some envir...

In 2021 I had an appointment with a doctor I had never seen before. I started by noting my Autism diagnosis. She dismissed it with "What? Are you a baby?!" I sort of tuned out at that point but my bride was there and says that several times during the appointment the doctor dismissed the ...
